Do you guys get the feeling that MM is saving himself for the playoffs the last few games or is he a little banged up the past 2 weeks or just tired bc of 11/7dman?

No, I don't think he is saving himself.

Just isn't getting the assists because who he's passing to isn't missing the crest.

Home ice in the bag, so no worries.

What's important is the scorers score in the real season.

That feather pass to Tavares takes extreme Hockey IQ to lift it over the defender and put it right on JTs stick… as I’ve mentioned, the game slows down for Mitch.

Some times two great players can form jealousy over the other’s performance but these two are genuinely happy for each other’s success
You can see by the look on their faces that they really are great teammates and friends
I almost wish there was a bit of jealously between the two. Jealousy can be a tremendous motivator.

Although Messier and Gretzky were friends I could never help but think there was some harbored jealousy of Mark towards Wayne which honestly helped propel him to new heights.

Be nice if he gets 100 points.

Someone has to be Leafs' Conn Smythe winner, and my odds would be on marner.

The team is loaded with veterans, no better time to be going into the playoffs.

marner on the clock.

Be a great year to prove he doesn't wilt under pressure.

Double digits time to earn their cap hit.

Free ride is over, they are veterans. They are either big game players or regular season Stat hounds.

Wayne's presence helped him sure, I just don't think jealousy is the right word. I think they were both great players and great teammates who put the team first, were happy to have each other on their team and Gretzky's greatness was just motivation for Messier, more reason to never get complacent and always strive to be better.

I know you love posting Marner stats but pretty as they are, on the eve of these playoffs I'm pretty sure nobody gives a crap about anyone's regular season numbers.

It's a new season, let's hope his playoff stats are as pretty as his regular season numbers for a change, that's what we really need.

GLG!!

I’m posting what I see online that’s relevant to the players performance. The fact you have to take a jab at an objectively impressive stat, says way more about you actually. You’re a joke dude.

Little finger at it again it seems. Don't worry...it isn't really about Marner but rather poor genetics driving hate from self loathing.

Gary Nylund was a minus 104 in three seasons with the Leafs and never scored a playoff goal his entire career. It’s a perfect name, same quality.

You however ;). What a player, Clark’s also a huge Mitch fan too.

LOL. It's not a jab, Marner is a great player, it's an an impressive stat and IMO Marner was our (regular season) MVP this season. You've been copy-pasting these stats all season long and that's fine but now it's playoff time and regular season stats don't mean a damn things at this point.

So now you're judging Nylund by the +- stat.

Tell me you don't understand the first thing about stats without telling me you don't understand the first thing about stats.

A low hockey IQ marginal contributor, that never accomplished anything. I mean it’s perfect.

And your passive aggressive routine isn’t intellectually interesting. You’re a sleep aid. Yuk it up, but the joke isn’t where you think it is. Enjoy your last word.

Yikes. If that's your assessment of Gary Nylund then ... I don't even know what to say, it's mind blowing. I'd say you know absolutely nothing about hockey but then, that's not quite true. You know enough to understand that Marner is a fantastic player (though he's probably not as good as you think he is) so you're not completely brain dead. Yet this assessment of Nylund is so detached from reality, quite the contradiction. Whatever.

Bit of hypocrisy here, you yourself jab at all objectively unimpressive stats.
Here's a couple relevant stats that support @Gary Nylund opinion that you have gotten upset over and threw jabs at in previous discussions. I believe you call any unimpressive stat that is posted, someone being a troll?

1) Marners turnovers or misplays in 3 of the last 4 series elimination games led directly to the gwg against.

2) Marner went 18 consecutive playoff games without a goal

3) since signing his mega contract, Marner has 2 goals and 16 points in 19 playoff games. Which pretty much matches his career pace of 8 goals and 69 points over 82 games.

At this point who cares about season accomplishments?
