The Canucks organization is fully tied to Pettersson now so they have no choice but to move ahead with this player. They need high end skill and they won't get it back in a deal they make to move Pettersson so they need to help him figure it out.

The way the Canucks dressing room as a whole deals with the media is pretty pathetic I have to say and it's a big turn off as fan. The players come across as entitled, petulant and immature. They actually have it pretty easy compared to other sports, or even compared to what hockey media was a decade ago. It's not just Pettersson. Demko does it too, and it's cringey. I can't relate to it at all.

In the end the team needs more mature leaders to set the tone for this immature core.

I've been defending him a lot for his poor performance (injuries, etc), but after this quote this morning I'm out. It's gotten more and more difficult to feel sympathy for this guy and this is enough for me.
Didn’t Rutherford basically say he didn’t understand how hard things would get with the new contract but they had talks and he now understands?

I think this quote shows he’s gone back to not understanding…

I don’t envy the Canuck’s management team. It’s an impossible lose/lose situation.

Petterssons attitude is pretty pathetic lol. Hes actually getting off lightly. He wouldnt be able to survive in Toronto or Montreal.

He's gotta go imo. He's not a player you go to battle with. Not a guy you want to stick up for.

when talking about the media in this market, I run into people that ask the athletes to grow up and face the music. I just did in an earlier post.
....and others that make excuses for them. but it is insatiable here, and a horrible fish bowl, I ALSO understand why the athletes hate it when the spotlight is on and its the same question non stop for weeks and months. IMHO, This comes down to the millenials not used to being accountable to their faces. I have children, and lots of teachers as friends, this is the reality, this thin-skinned attitude will be more and more prevalent in sports, you cant compare to the days when Neil McCrae and skeletor/Russell berate you in print/air and ask for an interview the next day. You can see with JR though, he still doesnt quite understand how our media works yet, even his preemptive interview with Mason to prepare us for getting shafted was done awkwardly. Our lack of a comparable local sports team will turn a lot of UFA's away. Im surprised Hronek signed, Im just as surprised EP did, Kudos to Allvin.

Anyone who thinks that PD is going to stop being an introvert doesn’t understand introversion. I know a number of people who are introverts and it’s not like it’s a choice. Yes, he’s getting paid a fortune but saying he should just buck up means you have no understanding what’s going on. We all are holding that he will revert to the player. He was a year and a half ago. I am assuming that he has a nagging injury that is holding him back. Hopefully we will see him get past it but stop blaming him for being the person he is.
