Prospect Info: Marlies/Prospects Thread

Hoefenmayer's skating is still a major issue though. His stride is still well below where it needs to be.

Seems like the Marlies will try out Hellickson and Hoefenmayer instead of Kivihalme, which is good, but I don't see the Marlies continuing that investment unless Hoefenmayer takes major strides (pun intended) to improve his skating.

Rubins is still exempt. Kral is still going to be there. Kokkonen is likely joining the Marlies next year. That realistically leaves a spot open for Hellickson, Hoefenmayer, McCourt, or Pietroniro to take it, but the Marlies may want another seasoned veteran like Dahlstrom, or may turn to the UFA prospect market again, if none of those guys are slam dunks... And they will likely invest in new guys than put them back in the ECHL for another year.

Abramov also looks to have got going after a slow start. 5 points in 12 games is ptetty solid considering he was on the 4th line to start, and has had little PP time. Moore has trusted him on the PK.

Abramov has plenty of time, sorting him out defensively is going to be important if we want him to be a bottom 6 center in the future

Leafs win the cup. Go 16-0 in the playoffs, win each game 10-0.
Shaner: thats such an embarassing turnover we gave up with 10 mins left in the 1st.

Is it a major issue though? I know that's the consensus but every time I watch him I come away thinking those concerns are overblown.

His skating isn't "good" by any means but if you compare tape of him with the 67's versus now with the Marlies, it's gone from glaringly bad to passable. He's not getting exposed on a nightly basis but definitely struggles with pivots and containing opposition on the outside.

After watching Hoefenmayer play with the Growlers, there's nobody on that blueline i'd give priority to over NH in a call-up scenario. I'd even rather see Hoefenmayer take minutes from Duszak/Hollowell because I believe in his upside more, but obviously Duszak is an impact OFD for them right now so that's unlikely. IMO he's improved his game in multiple ways comparing last season to now.

not sensitive all just putting people in place who think they can knock someone. Can’t handle the heat get out the kitchen.

like i said, its pretty hypocritical. or maybe its embarrasing, or pathetic, or trash...etc etc.

Good point. However knocking a player on a team
I like is just a thing all fans do. I’ll stick up for family all day.
 
I'm sorry, I'm sure this has been covered somewhere in this thread, what's the story with Brennan Menell right now?
