Based on that Cudmore article if you don't want to read it, he's saying that our 2020 draft class ranks 4th altogether (3rd best value per pick / 9th best overall haul) only the Canes (1st) (1st per pick / 6th overall haul), Wild (2nd) (2nd per pick / 8th overall), and Kings 3rd (8th per pick / 3rd overall) were ahead of us.

The best player is Rodion Amirov (shock)
Biggest steal is Veeti Miettinen
Biggest reach is Amirov

The reason Amirov is the biggest reach is not because he didn't deserve to go there, but it's because of the perceived tier dropoff when evaluating picks and how Amirov wasn't in everyones top-20 (but his xrange was 11-20)

Players that are considered "steals"/positive pick value (82 players had positive or net neutral value):

11th - Miettinen
18th - Villeneuve
19th - Hirvonen
22nd - Niemela
44th - Ovchinnikov
81st - Schingoethe

Players considered "reaches"/negative pick value (lower # = worse pick) (135 total players with negative value)

63rd - Amirov
65th - Akhtyamov
96th - Fusco
109th - Tverberg
110th - Miller
131st - Rindell

Here are the players chosen before Amirov (and Guhle and Scheider for lols) with worse value and their negative pick value rankings:

2nd - Sanderson
4th - Quinn
5th - Guhle (lol)
8th - Schneider (lol x2)
14th - Holloway
19th - Stutzle
49th - Raymond
52nd - Holtz
54th - Byfield
58th - Drysdale

Essentially the "steals" drop off after 45th. Anything between 46-82 is just positive value/good pick.

The "reaches" drop off after 48. 49th-135th is just "negative value", but it's a lot of 1st/2nd round picks that were taken like 5 spots early.

Miettinen with another good chance at the net. Can't tell if it was saved or hit iron again.

He seems to be all over the ice so far.
 
Kinda fell off after those two unreal chances, but he looks fast and his shot looks as advertised.

It'd be nice if St. Cloud stopped taking penalties so we could see more of him.

Yeah I noticed that too, but he also seems to get back on defence. He isn't say lazy when going back. I have seen him turn on the jets in getting back which is good.

Yea I haven't seen a need for him to jet back yet. Only seen ~3-4 shifts so far. Like you said, he does always seems to be in open ice in the slot.
 
Strange game deserved a strange ending..
Miettenen had some moments and his shot is what we expected. It's going to be an adjustment for him but decent start. Like his compete off the puck in transition defensively.

I like his work off the puck. He forced some things in the middle. Will need time to adjust.
