Im sure thats partially true but you can't reasonably think he has positive value in a trade. Taylor Hall was having a better season in Chicago than Arvidsson is having here and he was literally just given away.

The same thing was said about Foegele. Going to cost something to move him. He got paid even more in free agency and now he's doing even better. Our guys have more value than we think

Organization just seems like a stubborn mess.

I get that Kane camps is being difficult. But he could still be effective in a playoff drive.

Like I don’t know, work around the situation. Hope he has a good playoffs, pump up his value and dump him.

Foegele last year was a better player than Arvidsson is this year and is a few years younger.
Okay, so in a vacuum. What do you think Arvidsson is reasonably worth?

He COULD.
He missed essentially an entire year. Its going to take a while for him to be effective if at all. Look how long it took Brown to not completely suck and he got to start in a low intensity preseason.

Foegele hardly look good. I'm surprised he even had that many points. Fans were complaining about him just as much. I think Arvid had the same value as Foegele. Maybe a 3rd and hope the player can turn it around and be traded for a 2nd

But if the jury says that Allen is an upgrade and that it should be an option, why not Gibson who is proven better? That's just my confusion in all of this.

The jury isn't out, at all, he's absolutely an upgrade on what's here, without question. He's more of an upgrade on Pickard, but he is WITHOUT QUESTION an upgrade on the current tandem.

Great question.

Discounting the fact that he got hurt again last night I don't think you will find anyone in here against the idea of acquiring John Gibson at this point.

I don’t disagree. I’d be surprised if Kane looks like anything close to the player who first joined.

It’s still these guys jobs to work around the situation (half of which Jackson did) and improve the team.

Just turning out to be an ugly year all around for Jackson. Hope these guys can pull a rabbit out of a hat by tomorrow. It could be an ugly fall out for Bowman (who will take the fall for Jackson)

If Rakell is actually getting moved I think the Oilers should be willing to shuffle the deck and pay the price to add him. There's rarely players of his caliber on contracts like his on the market and it'd pay dividends for a couple of years. He's the kind of guy that will go for far less than Rantanen but when its all said and done in a year or 2 tons of people will be calling the GM who acquires Rakell a genius abd asking "why didnt we see it?! they only paid a 1st and a prospect! what a steal!".

He's not "the missing link" for us (we need 4D + G) but whoever acquires him will be rewarded.

Okay. So you think that O'Reilly, 1st, 3rd lands you a player of Rantanens calibre?
And you don't think other teams would easily match that?

Idk how they fit someone like Rakell or Rantanen in when they have virtually no cap space and still need a goaltender upgrade and a defensive upgrade.

I hope the team has talked to Arviddson and Skinner to moving. Probably have to just assume Kane is coming back before the season ends unless you can move him

Team has a bunch of holes. But if they can’t fix the the goaltending then they aren’t even giving themselves a chance.
