It's too early obviously but we might have a big time prospect.

Picking guys like this in later rounds is how you may eventually sneak a guy like Datsyuk (171st overall) or Panarin out of nowhere.
I absolutely love this pick, I know it sounds crazy but from what I see this guy could be even more big-time than Amirov a couple years away

Surprised by the lack of coverage of any AHL camp stuff. Haven't heard anything about the Marlies. I know a few other teams have started their camps.
The AHL schedule came out and no Canadian teams are on it ... it really sucks we could lose a year of development for our prospects

I thought the Canadian AHL teams were essentially having their own conference. I also read that Calgary was moving their AHL team from Stockton to Calgary for the season and would play in that 5 team rotation.

Ok I missed that, happy to hear. It only makes sense they would have their own conference but I guess the schedule is still to come out.

Canadian teams are starting later. The hope is February 10th, which is only like a week after everyone else.

It's annoying though.

Manitoba released their training camp roster today, so I imagine the Marlies won't be far behind. They aren't going to have Manitoba and Laval go ahead without Toronto and Belleville at least being close to playing.

Looks like Loponen has been the top-scoring D-man so far in the U20 Finnish league. Their version of the CHL? I assume.

Weaker league, but yes. It's more comparable to like the AJHL or BCHL.

It's nice he is getting a PPG in that league at that age, but he needed to dominate to even stay on the radar. It doesn't mean much more than that. He needs to be playing in the Liiga or at least the Mestis, and by the looks of things, he should be more than ready for that challenge.

Prospect of the week #8. Returning to it now and this one is from November 30th-December 6th.
For that week, Ovchinnikov gets it. He had 4 points in 3 games.

This is only including the guys who have started so far.

Notes:

With Rasanen struggling in his minutes, and now not even playing whatever the reason is, I am removing him as a legit prospect from my list.
