Hiring Coach Moore was a misstep. But the guy quit a decent position and pulled up stakes to come here. They owe him a bit more time. The bare minimum skill modern pro sports GMs and coaches have to have is the ability to speak diplomatically to the press and the half of a brain it takes to not publicly throw your team under the bus.

Other than a complete and utter refutation of your diatribe, nothing.

Yes, you did such a fine job of refuting the fact that he will have played 1 game (plus 5 minutes) in over 12 months of action, in large part thanks to the decision of his GM in sitting him out for 11 months. Bravo.

Marlies released Dakota Krebs, James Hardie, Keegan Stevenson, Jeremy Link, and Cole MacKay from their ATO's. Stevenson was the only one to get into a game, and he wasn't overly impressive. I guess the Marlies did not see much they liked in Hardie or MacKay.

Krebs and Link were mostly injury insurance.

Zach Trott and Kai Edmonds are the only ATO's left on the team. Edmonds is still needed until Redmond and Woll become available. Trott may be let go, but he did get into 2 games with the Marlies. That is the most out of any ATO to this point. He hasn't stood out though and the Marlies are likely going to start turning to guys like Gogolev, McMann, Green, etc. now that they are coming out of quarantine.

Thank GOD we draft well. I honestly feel good about the core going forward and how we can surround them with young cheap talent.
We have no business trading away 1st/2nd rounders unless we're landing a star-level player at the deadline. Otherwise, let the scouts draft as they have been and give them good high picks to work with and then our development system can really finetune these kids. Last few seasons under Dubas, we've lost high picks to get rid of the Marleau contract and in the Muzzin trade but we got lucky with Robertson and the KK trade this past offseason.

To give it a little more context:

pts/60 is really the only way to draw comparisons in the KHL it seems. These NHL destine prospects just never seem to get minutes. What blows my mind is that I believe Podkolzin has been scratched at the same rate if not higher than Rodian. the troubling part for me to understand with that, is that Podkolzin would likely be an every day NHL'er for 80% of the teams in the league at the current moment. One of the most NHL ready prospects in the world cant even play consistently in an inferior league. Hard to believe there are 12 forwards that are better than Podkolzin on SKA, and certainly the same for Rodian in UFA

The KHL simply doesn't care about developing prospects they believe are destined for the NHL unless they are a "little" team. Even then, they don't commit to minutes for them without either an extension in place or its clear they're one of their best players. With Podkolzin all but announcing he's leaving for NA after this year its no surprise a team like SKA has little interest in his continued development.

We're lucky that Amirov is on Salavat. A good, playoff team (in the east) that is forced to deoend on guys like Amirov and Mukhamudulin. Theyre nowhere near as stacked as CSKA, SKA, Dynamo, etc where they don't really care about developing players for NHL teams.

You can thank Lou for the 1st to get rid of Marleau and his 6M deal for year three. Anyone with half a brain saw that one coming when he was signed. To get a player like Muzzin you need to give up a top prospect or first rounder so nothing wrong with that decision given the need.

Also, we did not get lucky with Robertson or KK. Robertson was due to our improved drafting expertise under Dubas while KK was due to Dubas getting ahead of the market and making that deal before a lower price was set.

Guy doesn’t have a huge following, so I really don’t know how reputable of a talent evaluator he is. But it does look like Tverberg has some real promise. Certainly worth a flyer in the 7th

*Stupid Lou.

I knew day one that f***ing contracts 3rd year was horrible. Didn't expect it to cost us a top-10 pick in Jarvis, but f*** that situation sucked.
Everyone knew year 3 would suck, I do partly think Marleau under Keefe might have been okay though. We could've sheltered him better. However, we would've had to trade AJ and KK sooner, so idrk. The way I see it is we traded a 13th OA + a year of Marleau for a year of Kapanen + a year of AJ + Anderson + Hallander + 15th OA
