Leaving D'Agostini in is pretty shitty

It may be time to give him a couple of games off. He didn't look particularly sharp last game either.

Marlies haven't looked prepared to go the past two games. Last game we were able to make it competitive. Today, we just never did anything.

Same thing happened against Manitoba too. We are the better team in both cases, but as soon as teams adapt, we have not. Same thing happened under Moore last year, so ultimately it is on him given how much different this team is from last year.

We were told Moore was a good developer of prospects and maybe he is, but his record as a head coach in the AHL has been brutal and you gotta think he's on a short leash. Took a 13-3 team last season from Keefe and MaClean and then the team went 16-24 with him and now we're about to be 4-4, which isn't a bad start but I hope Pridham/Dubas is closely monitoring this.

It’s the kind of luck Doobler set himself up for when he decided to keep the two best prospects out for 11 months. Sandin will have gone for more than one year of inactivity with only one Marlies game and a 5 minute skate with the Leafs to show for it.
So if he had been playing all year that would've toughened up his foot for blocking shots?

The young guys have looked fine for the most part. There are not really too many games where we lost because one guy sucked. We've had some brutal performances from Kivihalme-Hollowell, even when we are winning, but usually when the other guys have been poor it was pretty much the entire team was brutal.

I feel like certain guys could bring more though. Robertson and Brooks specifically for the contracted guys. Anderson and Liljegren have been impressive and relatively consistent. They look like NHLers. Robertson looks like a high end AHL scorer but not quite an NHLer (i.e. Agostino) right now. Needs to work on his defensive game a bit and needs some more adjustment time.

Brazeau, Chartier, McKenna, and Elynuik can be better too IMO. I have higher hopes for them than a Conrad (who has been solid as a 4th liner) but right now they are mostly just solid... Nothing spectacular.

Stopped reading when Liljegren wasn't top 3. How anyone can watch the last 2 AHL seasons and come away thinking Nick freaking Abruzzese is a better prospect (even Amirov above him is a pretty big stretch) is beyond me.
Agree that Abruzzese ahead of Lilligren is indefensible - think the writer feels like he was too enthusiastic about Lilligren and is disappointed in his progress - but I will also say that our top 10 is much more impressive than it was a couple years ago.

He got injured blocking a shot. Playing in Sweden would not have made him impervious to pucks. He intentionally blocked it.

Gilman is the GM of the Marlies.

Dont pay too much attention to the Marlies, but everything I've read about Moore seems like its been a pretty big fail.

Should've kept it internal and promoted one of Keefe's assistants.

They made Keefe's right hand assistant Maclean coach for a few games until Moore came in and he was average, but average is still a step up from what Moore has done.
The next guy in line is Snowden.

For only the prospects i’ve seen:

tier 1: same as above, but i’m not convinced by amirov yet as he’s playing in a very difficult league where it’s very hard for teenagers to stand out and roughly half his points are from the powerplay.

tier 2 aka top four/top six upside: Ovechkinov and that defenseman we got instead of tyler kleven.

Tier 3 aka the boom/bust category: Miettinen then Abruzzese, and then koster. SDA fits somewhere. He’s very enigmatic.

Tier 4 aka the safe bois: ryan tverberg, kristian rubins, mac hollowell

Tier 5 aka 2020 ottawa senators level of drafting: Schingoethe, Fusco, Miller.

Rodion Amirov just scored, nice shot on this kid.
I hope he’s willing to come over and play for the Marlies as soon as next year. Haven’t heard anything new on extending his KHL deal lately as it was being reported before, and on the Marlies they could start to groom his game and get adjusted to playing on the smaller ice. Based on his highlights it looks like he’s got the sped and skill set to handle a top-6 spot on either the Matthews or Tavares line

Look how bad these are. Referring to the team as they"?
Also 8-1

To be fair, "they" are the ones that played and to me still holds the same meaning as we. Not trying to defend Moore, just defending the language used.
