Me too. I'd like, even more, for the kid to be given a 5-10 game stretch where he's getting 15 min/night to see what he can do.

its 1 game . hes played like most of the last 10 games.
ppl need to chill out.

There were concerns regarding Liljegren, but besides the usual suspects not many had given up on him. Especially in the prospect thread it was the opposite as there were a lot of strong supporters which kind of hyped him up after every good shift. I thought it was too much but it turned out they were right :-)

I'll say it again: don't conflate playing in NHL games with development. The NHL games earned are the consequence of player development. That development can happen with the AHL team or showing up every day on the NHL practice ice to work on the skills/reactions/reads/methods that make a good NHL player. You don't pass your Biology course because you got the opportunity to write the exams, you pass your Biology course because you did the studying and prep work for the course that prepared you for the exams.

I was able to quickly pull up a few of the propsects threads as well as Liljegren specific threads. You can search by poster too.

I get the following every time I use it. I wonder if it's as a result of the Ad Blocker.

Nah a lot of people were against liljegren, possibly even the majority. You can go read the early threads on him in like 2018-2020.

Definitely a majority (well at least of those commenting one way or the other).

Or Kadri. So many folks wanted him gone after playing partial seasons and not sticking for a full 82.
The development paid off, though
Yeah I remember a lot complaining about how far behind he was in development and such while over and over, his stats showed him as actually being ahead of the development curve for where he was selected.

Will woll get a shot to be the number 3 if he performs poorly for the Marlies? His AHL numbers are not good, but he has better skills then Kallgren.

I was excited at first then felt he was kinda spinning his wheels, not progressing and now quite happy to have him.
He was always progressing year to year with the Marlies. The last 2 years he just wasn't getting enough opportunity or rope to develop at the NHL level.

His arrival time in the NHL full time felt right.

He was just slightly off in the previous auditions.

We haven't had a goalie with good numbers on the Marlies since Moore took over, unless you count this year so far (Petruzzelli did very well).

That is why Kallgren is getting a ton of praise despite only putting up a .904 with them.

Marlies' defense was so bad, you could arguably add 20-30 points to the goalie's save percentage to get where they would be with a higher end defense.

@Caser , any intel on Vlad Kara's game? Seems to be taking a regular shift and his production is up comparable to Komarov/Semyonov. Does he have the two-way/physical game that could make him a viable depth option?

I think that when he wants it to be there, it is there - so depends more on his attitude, which has been questioned previously, but hopefully those issues are in the past, remains to be seen though.

I am liking Holmberg's NHL game. Will need to continue to grow to be a full timer, but he seems to position himself higher which is a breath of fresh air when we usually have 4 guys below the oppositions goal line lol.

I wasn't against Lilly but I was against the hype that some posters were labelling him as

I won't mention names who said to me, that Lilly was already better than Sergachev

Lilly someday may be better than Sergachev, but he isn't there yet now and he definitely wasn't there last year

Leafs do okay with Swedish defender, even Kronwall played to age 36 in the KHL.

He was a 9th. round pick, who had a coffee and doughnut with the Leafs.

No love for Stralman or Gunnersson?
