I wasn't against Lilly but I was against the hype that some posters were labelling him as

I won't mention names(he's a popular guy around here, starts with D ends with E, 4 letter word) who said to me, that Lilly was already better than Sergachev

Lilly someday may be better than Sergachev, but he isn't there yet now and he definitely wasn't there last year

No love for Stralman or Gunnersson?
I think most Leafs fans should be aware of those guys, unless they're very young.

Sarnia gets a nice piece and Voit has some help

Or it could take away his opportunities :sarcasm:

Bryan Hayes...legitamately called him a bust over and over again

Honestly, I do not trust Hayes to make a legitimately intelligent comment about hockey. He is simply there to make low intelligence hot takes and to be a host. He is pretty much a bargain bin version of Duffie except Duffie doesn't pretend to be an arrogant know-it-all and usually just keeps his opinions to himself (which is why he is a good panel host).

We should be systematically giving the producing youngsters (Robertson/Steeves/Anderson/Gaudette*) long looks getting consistent time in the top 6.

*not that young

For now, I think we need to find a way to make that third line effective.

We take a look, and the best combinations with Jarnkrok, whom I think we are most committed to as a third liner is currently Engvall-Kerfoot-Jarnkrok

Jarnkrok has been on the ice for 4 goals for, and 7 against.

The line with Holmberg on it, isn't doing very well at all... I like Holmberg, but perhaps like Robertson, he just isn't ready yet.

Jarnkrok looked pretty good with JT and WN though...

But AK-JT-WN have been good too.

We can't break up ZAR-Kampf-Malgin at this point...

So, I'm sitting Engvall for a couple of games, and bringing up either Steeves or Anderson.

I was willing to give Engvall a longer leash because he missed all of camp and preseason, but he’s been SO bad this year. Invisible out there, weak on the puck, noticeably slower than last year, a complete non-factor physically … he should spend a few games in the press box and probably no one would even notice

I love how effective ZAR-Kampf-Malgin have been, but I think that as a 4th line they're so incredible that we should protect them at the cost of the F group. I think the 1st step is to stop trying to over think things and just put people in sensible slots.

top 6: High energy cheap LW -All-Star C- All-star RW
3rd Line: Two way winger- Defensive C - Two way Winger
4th Line: Grinder - Rookie C - Energy/Skill (situational)
Translation

Bunting/Kid- Matthews - WN/MM
Bunting/Kid - Tavares- WN/MM
Kerfoot-Kampf-Jarncrok
ZAR-Holmberg- Malgin/Simmonds/Kid

Kampf was the 3C on a 115 point team, Kerf and Jarncrok are both dependable middle 6 wingers.

Knies with a assist. The minnesota lineup is a huge mess. Snuggurud and knies are playing with an assortment of centers. Logan cooley got suspended. It’s almost as bad as the miami heat game tonight.
