Maybe it's all my years of trauma being a Leaf fan, and how hyped I am that we have this kid, but that niggling in the back of my head isn't going to quiet down until we have this guy signed to his ELC.

I would be so dissappointed if he decides to pull a McBain, and he has other plans rather than signing with the Leafs.

Glad that Kyle is a master pitch man, and that Knies has such a strong affinity for Matthews, and the very real potential that he could be on the same line as the player that he looked up to.........

Fingers crossed. I think this kid is going to be a beauty, whenever he finds himself. Not this season, but stranger things have happened.......
I think we shouldn't be too worried about this, we aren't florida :P

Wouldn't we have his rights for like 3 more years? He could be in the NHL next year I don't see him wanting to do back to college for

Just the usual AHL rotations I think. Ho-Sang hasn't been 100% either from the sound of things.

All for AHL rotations to get guys some rest and some younger guys some opportunities but it is not like they have played a 3-in-3 or even travelled to this game, and Johnstone/Krys/Kivihalme are not exactly the kind of guys the Marlies should be worried about getting into games.

We should have been able to put out the exact same lineup as last time with Gogolev in for Ho-Sang. And if you wanted to run 7D, then take out Kopacka/Clune from the 4th line. Would have been a great time to see what Gogolev/Ovchinnikov can do with more offensive opportunities, but instead we are going to have a mismatch of lines/pairs with a bunch of subpar veterans taking opportunities from younger players.

The only saving grace for this would be if Ovchinnikov was also ill/hurt. Otherwise, it is just another moronic decision by Moore.

I may be wrong but there are some guidelines in terms of how dressing veterans works in the AHL. It’s a different league down there. The AHL is a complicated league, not only are they a development league but they also are a franchise themselves and want to attract UFA’s to sign there, so they have to play those guys as well. Its a balancing act

The good work against Abbotsford all gone now. Moore couldn't let the good play continue.

Here are the playoff series for our prospects, and their stats in the series and entire playoffs. I will add and updates series for each league as they start

Robertson is on fire

This is Nick's most dominant stretch of hockey as a Pro IMO. He's been above or at a pt/game since returning to the Marlies from the Leafs, but realistically he could have had a ton more points as well. He's been absolutely flying out there, and seemingly is creating way more than he had been in previous times.

I think his most recent call up helped Nick a ton. He's gone back down and truly has been dominant since. I think the AHL is where he belongs at the current moment, but he's getting closer and closer to becoming an NHL guy IMO

Not sure how I feel about Knies coming out early. Do we really need him right now? I don’t see where he’d slot in our lineup right now. He’d probably be playing with the Marlies if anything, no?

If he does come he either does well and stays up or goes down to the Marlies. There is always room for a big man with his skill in this org.
