Robertson had a great start to the year... 34 points in his first 17 games, but then 14 points in his last 20 games... he's really slowed down....
Weird.

I hope Kressler works out. I think if I had to choose between the two right now I'd choose T. Robertson but so much can change. Who knows.

I agree. He's been underwhelming but I don't think we signed him because he was going to be a point producer (might be wrong) and he impacts the game more defensively and with energy.

The issue is that history dictates that even guys who end up as strong defensive players at the NHL level need to produce more than he has in the OHL. Wasn't a bad signing and points arent everything, but hes trending dangerously close to Ryan McGregor without some major improvements.

Who did you have in mind from camp? I liked Theo Rochette at the time but for some reason he didn't even make it to the showcase team.

Tucker Robertson wasn't at the camp but that would have been a masterclass in scouting if they had managed to sign him. Likely to be a late 1st/2nd round pick in the upcoming draft.

Not a chance... Not unless there is a team that really wants to reach for him.

His production is nice for a guy who went undrafted, but he is a middle-6 complimentary winger at best, and more seems like he will be one of those speedy, smaller bottom 6 types who can PK like a Jesper Fast.

I can see top 100 if he can finish his season strong, maybe top 75 if someone really likes him. Higher than that and I don't know if you can justify the pick even if he reaches his potential.

I wonder if there is a way to find the primary point% on theses guys. I imagine Voit would be much closer to the top 2 than the bottom of the group.
Primary points per game for D+1 prospects:
Robertson - 1.59
Marner - 1.58
Voit - 1.32
Kadri - 1.27
Brown - 0.9

Voit is very impressive, but Robertson's D+1 year is the main takeaway for me. What a monster he could turn into if he can get healthy

Yup I've been saying that very thing a lot in the last little bit. What Robertson was able to accomplish in D+1 was nothing short of historic, and that is not even 1 bit hyperbolic. He unfortunately has had anything but a linear ascension thereafter with the pandemic and 2 very serious leg injuries. But this kid has it. He's got that drive that all the superstars have, and he has the skill to back it up. I really think as a fanbase there are a lot of people sleeping on Nick. I think it is similar to Timmy in the sense that he was playing pro in the AHL way before he was fully ready, and because time has passed fans feel like there should be this progress already. Combine all that with 2 serious leg injuries and you have what appears to be regression to the naked eye. But in reality Nick is still only 20 years old, and he is as determined a prospect as I can ever remember the Leafs having. He's got natural skill, and the work ethic to improve. I really think he can be a difference maker for us maybe even as early as this year in the playoffs.

Robertson has faced a lot of adversity in his career, and we all know about his birth story. I doubt this injury will stop him now. It will make him even more determined.

I still firmly believe that Robertson is going to be an impact player. I think we're going to see a whole different player once he gets back into the swing of things. I expect a lot more of an edge out of the kid. He's got something to prove.

I think Kressler was an easy decision. He impressed a lot and he's pretty young. He didn't play most of his draft year, so there was a lot of interesting potential there. I can't remember everyone that were at the recent camps but he definitely was my top player to sign to an ELC in the recent one. Can't sign everyone though.
The FO likes to draft the youngest most talented too.
First SDA, then NickRob, then Voit, then signing Kress.

going off this would he be interested in vinzenz rohrer of the ottawa 67’s? One of the youngest in the draft.

Rohrer looks like a perfect Leafs 3rd liner in the NHL. Would fit like a glove there, if he can work on his speed. He has also played center, but his faceoff ability sucks so he likely doesn't stick there.

I don't see him as a 2nd rounder though. Would not be a major reach if our 2nd is really late, but I feel he is more of a late 60's-early 80's type of guy more than a late 50's-early 60's where our 2nd should be... and there are likely some guys who are bigger needs and better upside. Plus, I feel like we can find guys like Rohrer through NCAA and European signings, or in the late rounds, like we have done with guys like Moore and Engvall in the past.

That would be cool. Hopefully he looks as good as he did in the couple of games he did get to play this season.
I’m just hoping he avoids the injury bug for the rest of the season, not expecting him to set the world on fire or even matching his earlier pace coming off a broken leg.

Nice line to start for Robertson

I have no idea what happens with Ho-Sang when he comes back. Michaelis is a much better fit for that 2nd line when he comes back, or if Gogolev can adapt himself as more of a power winger than pure sniper, then he would be a nice fit for that hole as well. Ho-Sang and SDA are not good compliments at all.

Ho-Sang will likely sign an NHL contract after the Olympics, whether it's with the Leafs or another team

I know that the KHL was taking a bit of a COVID pause in January due to massive outbreaks but does anyone know if they have returned yet?

Love that prospect rich second PP unit.
Where is Gogolev?

He can go if he wants. He is a nice piece for the offense, but he is not our best forward (Seney, Robertson, and Anderson are all better) and he takes away PP time from our prospects.

I agree .if he shows some 2 way game he ll sign an nhl deal
But it ll be 4th line type money pro rated
U just can't take a chance he ll be a total defensive liability in the playoff race
