Every year Brindamour sounds more and more like an idiot to me.
Why would you try to turn a player like Mikko Rantanen into Artturi Lehkonen? You need both kind of players to win. As a coach you should come up with a system that allows both to play to their strengths.
The way the Canes played before, they didn't have enough game breaking offense, and it led to that team underperforming, and winning exactly 0 games past the second round in the last six years. That's what he wants?
I also feel like the way he spazzes out behind the bench, and in the room may lead to some short term bursts of motivation, but it can also lead to adrenaline dumps long term, from getting too high or low emotionally.
The playoffs are a war of attrition. You need to stay even keel and that's the opposite of his approach. Even Roy and MacKinnon understand this.

The shitty part is that CMac probably didn't make some kind of gentleman's agreement not to send Mikko to a Western rival this year, because he probably thought they'd just hold onto Mikko for the Cup run.

That’s weird, because not many people here on HFAvs believed Mikko was a nightmare fuel. And he was playing with the leading scorer in the NHL LOL

He's on his way out and IIRC he didn't have good words when he left the Jackets either. Justified his decision to not stay with "lot of guys are leaving" or something along those lines.
I knew this was gonna happen. Brindamour plays a style that exposes every single thing that rantanen sucks at.
