If he’s also a centre, sign ‘em up.

Meyers is more of a winger, and someone I thought could have earned an ELC last year.

The problem with all of these NCAA signings is that we don't really have a ton of room for them unless we have more than one or two prospects graduating (which is the most I expect).

If Anderson graduates, then this is what we have locked in for next year:

Forward: SDA, Abramov, Gogolev, Steeves, Douglas (AHL), Chyzowski (AHL), Robertson, Amirov, Holmberg.
Defense: Rubins (RFA), Duszak (RFA), Hollowell (RFA), Menell (RFA), Kral, Villeneuve, Kapcheck (AHL).
Goalie: Woll (RFA), Scott (RFA), Petruzzelli (AHL), Kallgren

And then Abruzzese as another forward who could realistically come in, plus both Rindell and Niemela on the back end. Also, we need veterans.

Robertson - SDA - Steeves
Amirov - Abramov - Holmberg
Abruzzese - ??? - Gogolev
??? - Douglas - ???
Chyzowski - ??? - ???

??? - Niemela
Rubins - Duszak
Kral - Menell
??? - Rindell
Villeneuve (ECHL)

Woll - Kallgren
Petruzzelli
Scott (ECHL)

Amirov is back. Played 3 games in the VHL this week but zero points in total. Hopefully it's a short conditioning stint and he's back with Ufa ASAP as they have less than 30 games left on the schedule.

Also, for such a skilled player he has a ton of shootout gaffs:

Started the season at 6'1" 185lbs but looks noticeably bigger than last season IMO.

looks just like matthews on some of his shootout attempts.

therefore, i can only surmise..
amirov = matthews

Yikes, those don't suggest he's working to bump the collective spirit of the team (accepting that as a coach you can criticize their effort) but more he's attempting to protect his ass.

ye its one thing we actually agree on in here, moore is an ass lol

I've been wondering since last year why he hasn't been fired. Comes off as a massive jerk.

Matthew Knies is an absolute stud

Hard to believe we have Amirov, Knies and Robertson coming up to join the forward core of the next couple of seasons, as well as the other forward prospects that make break through
Is Robertson still considered a legit prospect? Haven’t heard anything about him in a long time

That's because he's been injured and was projected to be out for 6-8 weeks after hurting his foot/knee I believe.

As for the post you quoted, it is nice to see the Leafs bringing in some much-needed forward depth that can provide some skill and perhaps some scoring punch but I think all of Robertson, Knies and Amirov probably cap out at 2nd/3rd line guys. This is fine for the time being as depth scoring for cheap is always welcome but we really need to badly hit a home run with one of our forward prospects and have them elevate to top-line W status. I had really high hopes for Amirov and Robertson to grow into those roles but them being injured so much over these past few years has slowed down/ derailed substantial development time that both players could've used. Knies still is projecting well so far and I know initially I had thought of him to be a Brandon Saad type of a player but I think seeing him carry the puck and hound the puck with a little more confidence is making me think he's got a slightly different style of game than Saad (who is more of a cerebral player for someone that size) and perhaps a slightly higher ceiling.

I'm really happy with Niemela's projection so far since we've gotten him and is looking like he will eventually grow into a top 4 D who will allow us to have a very good puck mover or 2 on every d-pairing in the future. I think Holmberg is the x-link for the future 3C hole that we've been begging for so far. We really don't have any other prospect who is ready to fill that slot and play the style of defensive/2-way game that is required. His development has been a blessing. And lastly, I think the biggest x-factor player in this entire prospect pool to me is Ryan Tverberg. I've bought into the hype after watching his first game last year in the NCAA. The guy just hustles all game long and seems like a pure heart and soul type player. Reminds me of a faster Zach Hyman with a better shot and hockey IQ. Let's see if his game continues to develop and if he can carry it over to the NHL. If all goes well, in 2-3 years time we might have a roster that looks a little bit like what I have below.

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Knies - Tavares - Nylander
Robertson - Holmberg - XXX
Amirov - Kampf - Kase
Spezza

Rielly - XXX (need a pure shutdown/ stay at home guy)
Sandin - Lilly
Dermott/XXX (ideally someone who can play shutdown minutes and a big tough guy role) - Niemela
XXX

Campbell
Woll
Scott

It's been posted elsewhere but the Marlies game today has been postponed.

Mrazek will be starting for the Marlies in a conditioning stint tomorrow.

The shutdown guys your looking for is Kokkonen and Rubins.

1 assist for Voit today. Watched a good chunk of the game and he played well.

1 assist for Villeneuve so far today too. Night and day ever since he started playing with Charlie Desroches instead of Jeremie Poirier (and Desroches is more of an offensively oriented defenseman as well). 17 points in the last 9 and 1/3 games.

Charlie related to former Leaf prospect Stephen? Or is that spelling different?
