Boeser continues to look like a non factor. Suter's 15 goals to his 18 goals. Banking on him scoring 40 again seems unlikely we already need to bank on Pettersson turning it around or someone offering good value in a trade.

I don't know if it's such a big deal to take a loss on a Pettersson deal when they'll make a haul from New Jersey when they send Hughes over. 🫣

The one thing I don’t see is Vancouver allowing itself to get worse in the middle of a playoff fight. It’s so hard for them to score, and they can’t afford to move Boeser without a replacement.

f*** off

People are going to keep on harping on Pettersson like he was expected to get better overnight lmao. We're going to totally trade Pettersson either at the deadline or the draft for pennies on the dollar and look like total f***ing morons when he bounces back next year as we wonder "Wow, Pettersson is having a bounce back season" Like the kid isn't f***ing just 26 years old.

Think they will trade Boeser/Suter/Soucy and flip those assets for a Cozens(they really like him) or similar centre.

Hopefully they continue to drop in the standings and can snag Frondell/McQueen/Desnoyers/O’Brien/Bear

Again, sell high on Sherwood. A stupid GM will give a 1st for him.

Yeah the team would really miss his...1 even strength point in 9 games since Miller was traded (it was a secondary assist)

Well, people were harping on Pete having 15pts in 10 games when Miller was away.

Like, he was expected to get better overnight when Miller gets traded lmao.

Maybe there exists a reality that Pete doesn’t get better in the off-season, or that he picks up other career hampering injuries as he gets older. He has a frail body type.

But you won’t hear me say trade him for pennies. But if Byfield is on the market, I’d go after him.

...knee tendinitis isn't like tearing your ACL lmao, he'll absolutely bounce back. Question is if it will be with us or (what's looking more and more likely unfortunately) with another team.

Biggest take-away is that Bettman doesn't like the decentralized draft and may switch back as soon as he can.

A decentralized draft isn't as efficient but I feel having all 32 front offices in the same building on the same floor always makes for a more exciting draft

What about Norris?

To be honest as good as Pettersson is or can be. There is a lot about him that there is not to like. I think he has a ego, a big one. Miller was bad but Pettersson's is no better. Neither player could put their problems behind them and play for the crest on their chest. Both players were annoying and a distraction to the team. The contract hold off, I only want to play for a winning team BS. Well he gets paid handsomely but yet comes to camp out of shape not ready to go. You may be right, he's only 26 and it could come back and bite us in the ass, but I don't feel like Pettersson wants to be here and a trade might be best for both parties. Vancouver he's too much in the spotlight, Petey doesn't like media. Maybe Buffalo would be better.

Don't get me wrong I like Pettersson, he may bounce back. Good chance he would, but I don't think it will be with the Canucks.

I am not sure what I want or what I feel or what I think is going to happen with any of this Petey stuff but I find your point of view extremely understandable.

I've been saying give Pettersson the offseason to get back on track... but it works out and he starts performing again next season I say trade him then.

I'm aware, but his value is absolute dogshit right now
Maybe it begins with a really honest conversation. "Petey. We kinda hate you. There. It's out there. Not like you haven't hated us for years. Let's start working together on getting you out of here." And that would in theory lead to working together in good faith in getting him back to where he needs to be to attract a wider range of suitors as to facilitate the best possible outcome.
