Marian Gaborik

Not an "I told you so" but rather, just have realistic expectations.

fair enough, lets just get him signed first and let the discussion begin.

and I say this, knowing somebody signing a contract in the NHL is never a done deal till the ink dries.

Talk about captain buzzkill lol.

Of course I want him signed. I just know that this board has a way of doing a 180 on a player, so, I just thought I point out the obvious.

Ain't that the truth, but I think everyone loves Gabby. The guy is so elite when healthy.

Its kinda funny. You guys wanted him to be resigned after first few games, then after few invisible games you didint want him to be resigned and now you want him to be resigned again...

I guess He feels that coach is trusting him and I believe in LA is everything what he wants. He is not a rental. He was in the Minnesota for a very long time, then has been traded from NY and CLB. I remember Gabby had 10 pts in 10g in Columbus and Jarmo Kekäläinen told to the media that he wants something more from him and Gabby after that statement wasnt very good. Also in NY there were some big problems between him and Torts and one of the NY scouts told to the Slovak media that Tortorella was the only reason why Gabby has been traded.

All Im saying is he needs to feel that coach and GM is trusting him and I dont see a reason why would Gabby eventually prefered more money then staying in LA.

DL will do the unthinkable and trade Richards for Hossa in a show of good faith and sign Gabby to a 4 year extension so they can retire together, go home and play out there wonder years for their home country.

Or sign him at 3 x 5.5

That's a lot of cash to give to someone that has proven in every way to be undependable.

And what are the other options?

There is no one else available this summer that is anywhere close. The Kings need a player like Gaborik to contend with the other teams in the West. We simply don't beat SJ or the Ducks without him.

Not all of us, I've been saying for years that him and Kopitar would do amazing things if given the chance to play together. We already missed out on Gaborik one time and spent the money on garbage, I don't want to see it happen again.

Talk about some sexy firepower! !!

Dean needs to sign him. Sutter believes and trusts him, he made some comments after one of the ANH games about Gabby playing both ways and not being a defensive liability.

i want him signed - period. it is a matter of term and $$$.

my only complaint is the guy's invisibilty at times. take yesterday's game against CHI, he was largely silent most of the day. i know that Q is matching Kopitar's line, but it is these specific scenarios where Gabby needs to step up.

having Gabby and Kopitar together means an opponent's D can't shadow, or shift coverage heavily to one player/area, etc. those two together mean the D has to play them straight up in coverage, so they will get a bit more room to operate.

what's truly important on that line is for Brown to get back to scoring and causing havoc in the crease. having that 3rd forward in a 1-on-1 situation, being able to produce will blow up a defense. at that point they can't over cover Kopitar, Gabby or Brown - not to mention points are open.

I am not gonna find it hard to believe if Gaborik became quiet this past Sunday because Quenneville and the Blackhawks listed him like a flowchart; after all, Gaborik's previous team, the Blue Jackets, were division rivals vs them, pre-2013-14 season.

As for Marian himself, I'm glad he's thriving here with the Los Angeles Kings, as the feelings are mutual.

Well naturally a winger is invisible when the center is doing about the same. Only unless it's a super star winger, then they can do it themselves. If you want gabo to be scoring goals, getting points left and right, then Kopi has to be playing like that first.

Like when Getzlaf sucked.. Perry sucked.

When thorton sucked, Marleau sucked.

It almost always dependent on the center.

Gaborik's gal is a model and she seems to enjoy the LA lifestyle and is friendly with other players' wives/girlfriends, which is good news for Lombardi and the Kings. Happy wife, happy life.
