What's the chance, after this tournament Crosby gets inspired and wants to go to Colorado and really chase another cup.

Definitely non zero now imo, very bad for the west (league) if that unlikely scenario unfolds. This game highlights that it would be cool to see Crosby, and mcdavid for that matter, on different teams.

Yeah this. If Sweden's top guys show up they probably win that. Zibanejad, Pettersson, Nylander and Forsberg were all not great. Their "third line" looked like their best. They tried juggling the top-six a bit later in the game, but still none of those guys generated much.

If they got any offense out of those guys, the defense and Gustavsson probably take that.

I said on one of the main board 4 Nations threads that SWE's "third" line would be by far their best line. Raymond and Bratt have been excellent.

Zib is gonna sink whatever line he's on. And unfortunately Petey's pace isn't there for this kind of tournament. I don't really think their "top" lines are going to show up.

Gotta think Petey getting demoted is not optimal. Although it was against this monster Canadian team. Hopefully he fares better in the next game against Finland. Get some momentum there and then hope he doesn’t get matched with one of the greatest shutdown forwards of our lifetime, J. T. Miller.

Kind of see some similarities with the canucks, especially once Hughes is back. Great blueline, good goalie. Just weak at C compared to their opponents.

Then you look at Finland with Barkov-Aho-Hintz but not much winger depth and a horrid blueline vs their opponents it reminds me of the Canucks with Good Petey - Miller - Horvat.

that... [] is how close I think we are to putting together a top-5 team in the league. If we get EP going for next year, could be our time if the rest goes well. Man plans and god laughs, trick is, you have plan for the God factor. Ours is the D staying healthy. That did us in in 2011, and will just as easily if we aren't prepared. It's why Hughes is the most important player to keep. I hope Boeser is ready for a leadership role, as well. His dad was one of the true heroes in life who gave it his all so his kid could go chase dreams.

If MacK could figure out how to pass with speed, he'd be the best in the league without question. Quinn Hughes struggled with that as a young player.

Buddy...I wish I could skate 2% as good as Nate. Sadly my body isn't built to be that fast. Even ice to roller the mechanics are all f***ing different and every sheet is different.

Guess what crapped out first for me...nobody in my family skates and I taught myself how to skate in skates that I wouldn't put it past that my dad straight up just bought from the local arena in 1991. My stride is awful.

Lucky. I can only really stop with my right leg planted. I shoot right and I hate playing right wing. So, I'm a center. Not a very good one, but a center nonetheless.

As a hockey fan, it was cool as f*** seeing Crosby, Mackinnon and McDavid all out on the ice at the same time. That first PP goal with those 3 guys and Makar was just some broken cheat code EA sports shit. Reminded me of seeing Lemieux and Kariya together in the olympics as a kid
And again in OT seeing Mackinnon with McDavid out at the same time...it almost felt like that's some game breaking glitch that shouldn't be allowed. Even though Mackinnon never passed the puck the whole time

Gotta enjoy this while it's here and not take it for granted that they'll be back together again next year what with injuries, Sid getting old, etc. you just never know.

I love the speed, but at that speed guys just treat the sport like a track meet. I knew Sweden was cooked the minute Nylander took a dumb penalty right away. If you want a crash course on how to lose, be more like Willy. It's why I didn't want to draft him in the first place. It's why he looked like ass after signing a contract way too big for him.

i recently brought new skates. my old ones were too tight and small and it made my feet hurt. size 6.5... lol i had to remeasure my feet again and had it baked. size 7.5 fits perfectly no foot pain while skating at all.

I'm a freak with big feet for my body. Pro-tip to all you kids out there, alcohol and coffee do stunt your growth. Don't start drinking them as early as I did. Size 9 skates for me, but I figure we must be roughly similar height.

Yes, size 9s are too tight for me. It's hell to f***ing skate in, but it honestly helps me keep my feet moving and being off the ice. But taking the boot off, holy shit....it bad.
