he has a mean streak right?

i mean i'm not a fan of the GRIT GRIT GRIT stuff but like bigking's been saying, this team's been baby soft and they just added 2 mean sons of *****es

Reminds me a little bit of when we went out to get Regehr. Sick of this team getting pushed around.

Edit: and not pushing around. The amount of Canes untouched in the slot and dangling around without getting plowed was disgusting tonight.

Thought maybe you guys would get a chuckle out of this Ducks fan tweet.

Don’t be surprised to see Dion on third pairing with Martinez. Forbort will stay with Drew, but Muzzin will move in also. Muzzin will play primarily with Folin. Gravel is 7 for now. LaDue gets sent back down. Dion could see 2nd Pp time and Pk time. No improvement in this trade up front, which is where the Kings need some upgrades.

I'm going to be irate if forbort isn't the 7th defensemen. Ladue needs to be in the top 6. This won't help shit if forbort continues to play.

They're at 22 players. If Lewis gets back at some point soon-ish, that's 23. Carter is who knows exactly when. They don't have to send anyone down for a while.

not to mention the complete absence of any response to the hacks kuemper was taking after whistles against the lightning

even he looked around once like wtf guys

Doesn't Phaneuf have a bit of a rep of being an asshole? What has he done to get the rep?

Hopefully it will be a case of another experienced dman looking good on our team after looking shit elsewhere.

Blue line was Charmin soft. An overmatched MacD made the team because of this.

If you're stuck with the cap hit anyways, at least have it be useful.

Nice to see ownership sign off on spending more actual dollars too. Don't think a buyout was an option as ownership is probably tired of paying players and coaches who aren't even here anymore.

Which is exactly why I think it's hilarious anyone could say this is bad for the Kings.

To be fair, he has constantly been on a team that has been in the process of rebuilding/retooling after 06/07 season. However, he HAS been a part of those failures.

The only possible way it's a bad deal for the Kings is if Gaborik retires early and/or is eligible to be one of those healthy LTIR guys. People who think it's a bad trade are way too fixated on Phaneuf coming in. Of course Phaneuf isn't a good player to acquire for $5.5 million and 3 years. No way the Kings should want him at that. But they're literally swapping a completely useless Gaborik for a semi-useful Phaenuf. Losing Gaborik alone makes it a good deal. Hell, I'd trade Gaborik for pretty much any player in the NHL and it'd be an upgrade for the Kings.

I think it was Regehr who wanted to fight Phaenuf in the locker room when they were on Calgary in the middle of a game.

To be honest, even with Forbort's mishaps, I'm actually more concerned with Ladue defensively. Sure, it's his rookie season and he has a lot to learn, but he's made some mistakes regarding his position where I sometimes wonder if he's ever played defense in his life.

Does this mean Amadio finally gets 3C minutes ???
I actually love this trade, Dion still is a physically imposing player who will add much needed toughness and nastiness to our club and in front of the net...

Ladue is a much better puck mover than forbort will ever be. Forbort has the occasional stick check but did you see his penalties tonight? He's just a clueless guy who can't pass or shoot. Pair ladue with a vet and he's going to excel. Pairing him with folin is going to expose his defensive side.

Kings biggest issue Imo is getting the puck up ice. They get stuck in their own end to easily if a team has a heavy fore check or is fast. Ladue helps tremendously with this and gives them a good shot on the power play. Forbort well, he would prefer to never touch the puck.
