Puljujarvi is available for the low low price of a 1st round pick.

Former 4th overall, drafted ahead of superstar Matt Tkachuk. That price can't be beat!

I’m happy for you and I’m happy that I had no knowledge of this until this moment and I’m also happy that I will(hopefully)never feel any obligation to watch a game DOC is playing in again
Sorry It hit a sore spot. Hopefully I do not join you in the wallowing over DOC.
I'm a fan of DOC but he always leaves you wanting more. It looked like he was breaking out last year and then more or less disappeared this year. But as a 3rd or 4th liner, he's solid and has that puck hound quality. But I do wonder how he'll do away from Sullivan, might be good for him and I wish him well.

It was kind of funny how both players carried the puck into the offensive zone when we dump and chase on their first game.
Worried our system might bland that out of them.

DOC is big, fast, still young... put up 33 points last year.... on pace for only like 25 points over an 82 game schedule this year...
He's also a positive corsi player...
For a fourth liner, you could do a lot worse..
anyone saying 'he sucks!' needs to take context and position into account

Big and fast? Boy do I have the perfect guy for you. Pierre Engvall already has orange and blue gloves ready to go. He can be had for a minimal return of a draft pick.

As others have said, they should have kept Holloway. I was shocked they didn’t.

Maybe Josh Anderson.

If Chicago is willing to move Nick Foligno, that’s another nice option.

If the Oilers really want to bring in speed and forechecking, the Penguins have one Jesse Puljujarvi playing the AHL that could be available.

Seravalli always loves to be scathing so of course he uses Holloway here. But Holloway was only that sort of player in brief glimpses for the Oilers. Warren Foegele is who they miss the most, in terms of who they had that played that way that they lost.

And it's when you add Foegele, Ryan Mcleod, and Holloway that you realize why the Oilers went from a fast team to a slow team.

33 points is 3rd line production, honestly. On average last year each NHL team only had 6 forwards averaging over 33 points.

I'm betting the Oilers saw DOC as more of a 3rd liner than a fourth liner and they're right to do so.

Actually I'm not all that upset with the management team identifying DOC as the kind of player they want.

We're old, he's young
We're slow, he's fast.
Our bottom six is fairly small, he's big.

People love dunking on the Oilers and losing Holloway for next to nothing was dumb as hell but DOC is a decent replacement, at least for the Holloway we saw last year.
