Alfie is God. He won the God sweepstakes. His number is returned in Heaven as well
I may have wrongly assumed you were an Alfie guy.

But yeah. The alternative to onlyncheering for them when they’re going to win is that it’s very likely you’ll never cheer for them. The odds of Ottawa winning a cup are super low

Team needs 2 goalies, 2 real goalies

Not far behind Bob Cole and Harry Neil... Leaf Gods!
I really liked Harry Neil.

Amazing. It was actually Debrincat himself that was offside.

Cursed.
And Debrincat did not even try to drag his foot behind him. Not a very smart play by him.

I have no problem with that challenge. Goal was scored directly off the rush and it was clearly offside.

They are bullshit when a team cycles for 45 seconds after the entry and still has their goal taken away.
Good point. I think there should be a time limit to call back a play that was offside. May be 30 seconds.

God it’s so irritating that so many Sens fans would rather make a buck than fill the barn to support their own team. Maybe they need to start denying entry to resold tickets for these games? Maybe you need to have purchased tickets to and attended non-Leafs games to qualify for these premium games? I know it’s a complicated solution but someone needs to figure this shit out because it’s really embarrassing.
Recently I was in Winnipeg and Calgary. Fans in both cities complained of the same thing. Leaf fans. And STH selling their seasons.

We played a game that we would have won If our two regular goalies weren’t injured type game.

Our git’s we’re flying and we dominated play in this battle of Ontario game. In the end. We lost, in a shoot out, but shit we played well.
Except in our zone and our goaltender.

I have been saying it for a while.

I dont get why Chabot always has most ice time and even less when they say he’s hurt. I dont want him gone but his play hasnt been good this season

Yeah we can’t just play children in net I agree.

Forsberg is a fine number 2.

What do you do with Sogaard? Can’t trust him to get you wins into a playoff spot. Goalies a mess for Ottawa, going to be another big summer trade to fix it

Maybe I’m over thinking this, but is DJ the only coach that willingly throws 4th line out for o zone face offs. I didn’t watch all the game last night, but perfect example, 2 min into game the Sens had 2 great shifts back to back with the Brady and g line, and then throws out watson line and momentum gone. I can almost gurantee matthews or marner are coming for Toronto every o zone shift
Pretty common coaching strategy I'd say to get every line and every D pair into the game early

Bottom six gets some help by adding Norris, it will push everyone down.

Greig-Pinto-Joseph
???-Kastelic-Gauthier

Last piece could be Kelly, Crookshank or a UFA, or I suppose Formenton if that blows over.
Formenton should have been signed this season.

If this guy didn't have the last name he is a nobody. His takes are terrible. There's no reason anyone should listen to him or follow him. His hockey resume has literally nothing on it.

Oh now were going after STH. The ones who actually pay to go to games?.... The team is going to have 14 sold out games this year. How about thanking the fans for coming back after this team was run my a micky mouse, misogynist, that was actively trying to not only lose but alienate the entire fanbase. If you actually understood how the pricing works you'd know that every STH overpays for literally every game except these ones. You can always buy equivalent tickets for less than the cost the day of to game in any non sell out except leafs and Habs.

I'll tell you this too. My clients were leaf fans that had my tickets last night. They're amazing people and I'm glad they got to enjoy such a great game. The reality of it is almost 30,000 people moved to Ottawa from the GTA over the last 5 years. There are lots of leaf fans in Ottawa and there are lots in Ontario. According to my wife who works the games she said there were more sens fans than usual and they were louder than normal. So there is some progress. The better the sens get the more STH there are the less leaf fans there will be. They buy all the singles actually it's not the STH for the most part. Maybe you need to buy more tickets instead of blaming the people who are responsible for this team having the 2nd biggest spike in attendance in the league.
Lol you said it’s not the sth and then said you have your tickets to leaf fans.

Also. Why

What do you do with Sogaard? Can’t trust him to get you wins into a playoff spot. Goalies a mess for Ottawa, going to be another big summer trade to fix it
You put him in the minors?

Why did people move to Ottawa during the pandemic?
With absolutely no data to look at, the two things I can think of relate to being able to work remotely

1. You're actually from here and moving home because you can WFH
2. You're getting out of TO and cashing in on house prices because you can WFH

It is frustrating, the goalie situation as obviously Sogaard would like at least one of those back. The loser on here that says he sucks…he shouldn’t even be here. He is supposed to be earning his stripes and experience in the AHL.

Clearly he isn’t ready. But he is trying hard and while he whiffed on the Marner one, who is a great player, he made a lot of point blank saves and a lot in the shootout. He is 22. For someone to say he sucks just goes to show how shit a lot of fans are here.
Like most young players he's inconsistent. Great play (save) offset by a bad play. Hopefully he will learn and grow because he does have the ability.

Senators "team D" leaves a lot to be desired. They give up a lot of 2 on 1s, high danger shots in the slot, blown coverage plays, etc.

Typically teams with good Team D have good GAA numbers. Sogaard hasn't been stellar for sure, but just look at how Gustavsson's numbers improved after going to the Wild who have a better team D. Instead of being inserted carefully and gradually into the lineup, Sogaard was thrown into the fire because of injuries to our starters.

I think the whole blame it on the goalie is largely (largely versus entirely) fueled by the need to find a find a simplistic explanation and the need for a scape goat. Again, not saying he's played well, but it's lazy thinking to put all the blame on him. I'm sure absent the injuries to our starters, they would be implementing a different plan.

I would assume because they could work remotely and didn't have to go into their office/work location. Toronto housing is very expensive.
Look at Gustavssons numbers when he was the same age as Soogard. .933 in a similar body of work on a worse team. The fact they gave up on him the way they did is hard to really comprehend. Gus has above a .900 save percentage every year except last year when he played in front of the sens covid team. They arent close and probably never will be. Another massive blunder by Dorion.

Viruses always have a reason for spreading

How does a 6’7 goalie get beat over the shoulder while he’s standing uo

I was a little surprised when I heard that they had traded Gus to the Wild. He seemed to the have the pedigree and I thought he was quiet and a positionally sound tender. Also, they had been nurturing him along despite having a down year last year.

Oh well.

I think there was some impatience over the summer and the plan got accelerated. The idea of patience is not a popular one amongst some though.

Lol he is a rookie who is filling in for two veterans.
Our veteran goaltenders were also getting beat sometimes on the same type of shots. I'll guess better team D will produce better results including better goaltender stats. That's not saying we couldn't use better goaltending. But it isn't the sole issue with this team.
