And where am I blaming Tkachuk for our loses? I am blaming the whole Team. I haven't talked about Tkachuk in a very long time, let alone anything about his Captaincy.

Something is really wrong with you? You are literally obsessed with him for past 4 years now dude.

and its just sad that you have to put down Alfredsson and Karlsson in order to elevate Tkachuk. Maybe just talk about Tkachuk as a player on his own hockey merit?
You made a whole thread about having the weakest leadership. If that's not a shot at Tkachuk then I don't know what is

Honestly all I am hearing is whining and excuses and bunch of nonsense, and then you tell me that I don't know anything about Hockey?

Stinky Leafs? Have you check the standing lately? Have you checked their record? Do you even know who won the game today?

Do you know what embarrassment is actually? If you don't go watch the Chicago, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton games. Even much of Colorado's game, as well. Go watch the November games. Go watch last year's games. Go watch the Covid season. You will learn what Embarrassment is

I am happy for you that Tkachuk scored 2 goals so you can consider it a win and go out and celebrate, even though we lost the game, because the name you just mentioned did not come in clutch in the SO. Al though, you are saying all this like I am blaming Tkachuk on our loses. I am blaming the whole Team and the coaching staff

Sens fans naturally want to love and embrace their players as we did with Alfie, Fisher, Redden, Spezza, EK. Coming from a town like Ottawa we want everyone to fit in and have fun.

Ottawa fans needing to keep the Sens players close first before asking them to win is a characteristic of this city. Small town mentality means We would rather the players like the city first and make sure they are happy before we put the demands of winning on them.

If this guy didn't have the last name he is a nobody. His takes are terrible. There's no reason anyone should listen to him or follow him. His hockey resume has literally nothing on it.

Oh now were going after STH. The ones who actually pay to go to games?.... The team is going to have 14 sold out games this year. How about thanking the fans for coming back after this team was run my a micky mouse, misogynist, that was actively trying to not only lose but alienate the entire fanbase. If you actually understood how the pricing works you'd know that every STH overpays for literally every game except these ones. You can always buy equivalent tickets for less than the cost the day of to game in any non sell out except leafs and Habs.

I'll tell you this too. My clients were leaf fans that had my tickets last night. They're amazing people and I'm glad they got to enjoy such a great game. The reality of it is almost 30,000 people moved to Ottawa from the GTA over the last 5 years. There are lots of leaf fans in Ottawa and there are lots in Ontario. According to my wife who works the games she said there were more sens fans than usual and they were louder than normal. So there is some progress. The better the sens get the more STH there are the less leaf fans there will be. They buy all the singles actually it's not the STH for the most part. Maybe you need to buy more tickets instead of blaming the people who are responsible for this team having the 2nd biggest spike in attendance in the league.
I can vouch for this. When Stutzle broke in all alone in OT , it was so loud.

Personally, I have never entertained the thought of selling my tickets to Leafs fans at a profit. Never. But I cannot overly criticize those who do, as those profits most likely end up paying for their renewal. I know people getting 1k for a pair of 100s…that is a quarter of someone’s package lol.

When this team is ready, chances are they will not sell their tickets. They will go. The worst was the game in April 2022. That was an abomination

I know of at least a few people who sold their tickets in the last week. It sucks, but it's a straight up business decision for them. If we had gone 5-1 in our last five instead of 1-5? Different night. Still a lot of blue, but way different vibe.

Now, even when we are winning, there will still be a lot of stinky blue jerseys in the stands. It won't be nearly as bad as last night, as the bandwagon Leaf fans will be gone, but enough to be annoying. They are like mosquitoes in that you can't get rid of them - you can only hope to keep the numbers down somewhat. It's like Yankees jerseys in baseball - it's the franchise in the largest market in the biggest hockey nation on earth, and they will have a doggedly loyal following even when they sink to the bottom of the standings again. "My grandpa/dad/uncle/older brother was a Leafs fan - he has a signed card from Johnny Bower/Darryl Sittler/Wendel Clark, blah blah blah..." We're fighting a ton of history, as we've all noted before...
You have to give credit where credit is due. Their passion is real. And they have always come and filled our place, even when they were embarrassingly bad. Habs fans clearly have not, and they have less of my respect. They only come out in droves when their team is good.

Leafs fans are incredibly passionate even in the face of absolute incredulity of losing since 1967. They take their lumps, cling to beating Ottawa 20 plus years ago, but they are incredible fans.

Could look that way because of sheer numbers

The game on April 1 will be interesting. Will there be more Leaf Bros, less, or the same? Dropping $400 on tickets twice within two weeks - that's a lot of money...

It is frustrating, the goalie situation as obviously Sogaard would like at least one of those back. The loser on here that says he sucks…he shouldn’t even be here. He is supposed to be earning his stripes and experience in the AHL.

Clearly he isn’t ready. But he is trying hard and while he whiffed on the Marner one, who is a great player, he made a lot of point blank saves and a lot in the shootout. He is 22. For someone to say he sucks just goes to show how shit a lot of fans are here.
Senators "team D" leaves a lot to be desired. They give up a lot of 2 on 1s, high danger shots in the slot, blown coverage plays, etc.

Typically teams with good Team D have good GAA numbers. Sogaard hasn't been stellar for sure, but just look at how Gustavsson's numbers improved after going to the Wild who have a better team D. Instead of being inserted carefully and gradually into the lineup, Sogaard was thrown into the fire because of injuries to our starters.

I think the whole blame it on the goalie is largely (largely versus entirely) fueled by the need to find a find a simplistic explanation and the need for a scape goat. Again, not saying he's played well, but it's lazy thinking to put all the blame on him. I'm sure absent the injuries to our starters, they would be implementing a different plan.

Why did people move to Ottawa during the pandemic?
I would assume because they could work remotely and didn't have to go into their office/work location. Toronto housing is very expensive.

Games like this make the eggs we laid on the road trip that much more frustrating.

The talent is there to be a playoff team, we just lack the experience to do it consistently
That's a good point. The Senators seem to get up for games against the better teams and kind of sleep walk against lesser opponents. They haven't developed the consistency or the killer instinct yet.

I find it funny reading the comments about Murray last night. His performance was described by many Leaf posters as "Amazing, Fantastic, Excellent " etc. He was steady but faced a lot of low quality shots sprinkled in with a few high quality scoring chance. He also got beat for the tying goal twice and let in 3 in the shootout.
Basically if the Leafs' brass are counting on MM to lead them in the playoffs they are going to be disappointed again.

I think most of the D they have are offense focused. Offense is great, but with the goal tending in net, ending the game in the + column needs to be the biggest priority

I agree. He hasnt played well but its easy to point the goalies while ignoring the fact that we had 2 dmens chasing the same guy down low while the slot was wide open. Then we have dmens flying early giving up 2 on 1s. Mind blowing to me that some say dzone structure is fine.

Samsonov is basically the Leafs starter now. Murray is the backup. Samsonov has played 35 games, while Murray has just 23. Murray of course has had some Injuries.

I would say 3 of the four should have been had easily.

But everything else you said is absolutely correct.

I think we just realize a team of 22 21 and 20 year olds isn’t winning the cup. And none of them are matthews and marner up front.

Alfie didn’t win shit either. His number is retired.

Most of the STH I have talked to over the yrs just don't like going to Leaf games because they don't want to hear or have to deal with Leaf fans. A number of them are older & retired & just don't want to put up with the bullshit & a number of them also take their wives to games & don't want to have to deal with beer being spilled on them every time the Leafs score. This is what I have been told, it's no fun to go to Leaf games in Ottawa. Buffalo fans have the exact same problem in their arena & worse a number of their STH are Leaf fans who can't get season tickets in Toronto. Seattle Mariner fans hate the fact that whenever the BlueJays come to town so do hundreds of Jay fans from Vacouver/BC who out cheer their own fans. It creates a great rivalry but really pisses off the home fans.

Leaf fans also don't get to go to too many Leaf games & it's easier to get tickets to games here in Ottawa whereas Ottawa fans have 40 games to go to. They come up here in bus loads, plus there are plenty of Leaf fans who live here, I know quite a few. There are also quite a few Hab fans in this region especially across the river, that's why Leaf & Hab tickets are the most expensive tickets because they sell out the building which is great for ownership & shitty for Sen fans.
