I think it's definitely one of the x + y +z for me.

After getting rear-ended pretty badly a few years ago I had a real uptick in the frequency of migraines due to injury to my neck. That and things like dehydration, lack of sleep, seem to pile on.

Sometimes I wish I was one of the people who could be like, cheese causes migraines for me. or some other specific thing so I could avoid it like the plague.
I think the best tonic for me is a nice long vacation in a sunny climate paired with a margarita on the rocks.

For some reason I've never had a migraine while on vacation...

I think dehydration is such an underrated cause for many things

For me in particular it can foster intense day long headaches.. i dont know if i would be diagbosed with migraine but i can be functional all the way to hallucination bad. I still remember the little green men getting on the bed and trying to grab my legs

Why did we also have to throw in a 2023 7th round pick to Arizona? hahahaha

I am beyond apathetic. This roster still sucks, the OEL buyout will be a major killer down the road and this team won't win jack until Petey/Hughes are long gone.

Everything about this team sucks, even the DJ and all the cringe employees who try to make the arena as family friendly as possible. The team plays with no nuts because the organization has no nuts.

I know I know, the DJ is a stupid thing to complain about but when your team is down a goal with 2 minutes left and the DJ plays "Girls just wanna have fun" you are undoubtedly going to lose. LOL. Losers

K, rant over
Old jack burton hasn't been paying too much attention to the Canucks but were in the dog days of summer and this new regime looks finished building its roster for the up coming season so I decided to wonder over to cap friendly and see the damage.

as I'm scrolling down, I couldn't help going down memory lane and thinking to myself back in the summer of 2020 that I had no problem sacrificing Markstrom, Toffoli and Tanev to dodge that bullet known as OEL....perhaps it was a coping mechanism or something as I'm still not sure but anyway, the summer of 2021 rolls around and Benning does the unthinkable!!!!! trades for OEL and commits 12 mil. in cap strait off the bat all while seemingly to forget that his young franchise studs need long term contracts...oops.

So I finally arrive at the buyout portion of cap friendly and keep in mind that this is the first time I've seen the OEL buyout structure and it hits me! I'm literally Doc from back to the future running around the house, hand on forehead saying "1.21 gigawatts!!! 1.21 gigawatts!!!" but it's "4.7 mil. of cap in 25 & 26!!! 4.7mil. of cap in 25 &26!!!"

I frantically scroll up and I start to study the cap structure of this team moving forward since well you know, this new regime has pushed all their chips in and are going for it. Ummmmmm ya it does not look good moving forward.

Then I come over here to check in on the wonderful posters here @ HF and there is your rant which made me chuckle and respond.

Cheers Beast and may we never forget the man, the myth, the legend known as OEL.

Yeah I've never really been able to pinpoint what causes mine, it's usually not one thing but a perfect storm of x + y +z and then I get one. And I get a really awesome aura that messes with my vision enough that I'm pretty useless for 30-45 min.

That’s exactly my symptoms. My mom gets them and always attributed it to eye-strain and that makes sense for her since she only has one eye. One of mine is weaker than the other so I’ve been told that’s what causes it for me. Wearing my glasses when looking at a screen, remembering to eat & drink. and getting proper sleep usually holds them off.

I had a bad shoulder injury that devolved into a neck issue and then had pretty bad migraine/headache issues for a few years after. Got to the point where CT scans/etc were needed.

What finally solved it for me was going to a massage therapist with experience in trigger point therapy. They were able to find numerous points that led directly to places on my head that were common spots where the headaches would occur. I noticed a dramatic difference after the first session and after a few sessions the headaches were completely gone.

About a decade later and the only thing I notice is that I'm a bit more prone to getting headaches from being dehydrated.. but nothing a couple tylenol ultra can't fix.

We are totally a loser franchise. No question about it. We even have people defending the status quo around here. Losers gonna lose.

Jack, you were one of my unstoppable childhood heroes but not even you could help this franchise. Benning's destruction makes Lo Pan's work look like child's play

I commend the few who remain hopeful and optimistic as I once was but they soon will need to face reality.

I have found that when I feel a migraine coming on, a combination of hot coffee searing down my throat, constant heat on my face, extra strength Tylenol, and neck stretches stave them off. Obviously each person is different. Hope you figure a way to mitigate it.

I'm pretty skeptical of medications being different from one to the next but I really did find a difference in Tylenol Ultra or the generic equivalent vs any other kind of medication. They even worked better than any of the prescription medications I tried.

As we're talking about headaches & migraines right now one thing that works well from somewhere people may not like is go to a Saje store and get their Peppermint Halo. It's a strong peppermint oil that gives a soothing tingling feeling when dabbed on (it's strong stuff so don't get it in your eyes!), kind of like popping a menthol lozenge for the throat.

Where do you apply it? I get migraines and found that if I act quickly with Advil and a long hot shower with hot water beating down my neck then I can often stave it off. If I can't, might as well shut down for the day, but most of the time I have a great next day, rarely I'll get them a couple days in row.

That was real my friend. Seriously though that sucks. Headaches or migraine. I've only had a couple migraines in my life. Totally debilitating.

Lol.. i would believe it .. hallucinations are incredible good or bad

When you said little green man, this comes to my mind:

Dang. Did you get your million dollar settlement at least?

For all you migreniacs.

If you know you are grinding or biting your teeth while sleeping you should look in tto getting a sleeping / night time mouthguard from your dentist. It can be a lifechanger.

Funny you mention it, because my dentist set me up with one because I occasionally clench my jaw while I sleep. But every time I used it, it triggered a migraine.

(Well anytime I wore it, I'd have a migraine and it was the only outlier in my daily routine. )

Do you feel that the back of your jaw and your neck behind the ears is tight?

Could be that you end up biting the mouthguard even harder and then its just not a solution for you.

Or the guard could be the wrong size or shape.

This thread’s fallen to the second page? Wow…

Anyway, in The Athletic’s annual rankings, split between a team’s own fans and others, the Canucks have fallen back down to the almost-bottom:

The ranking from the fan base is the first time I've had respect for the general fan base.
