Confirmed with Link: Malkin re-signs to a 4 year, $6.1 million AAV deal (Eklund called it, start singing his praises)

thank you
Absolutely you and I talked about this before the end of the regular season we both would have burned it down. And tried to get assets before the trade deadline in the form of picks or prospects. But this is the route they chose to go so we're going to have to wait more more years for the rebuild. But I'm now very curious to see how free agency goes.

This is truly special. Cherish it my friends.

I think this needs to be pinned and a lot of people dont understand how awesome this really is. There are Hockey fans all over that never got anything close to seeing this.

We are a lucky fanbase

I'm not even talking just the sentimentality of it, the players are still some of the best to play the game and they still want the cup

It's been derided as a "country club" atmosphere in the past, but tonight, our franchise looks a lot like family. For the record, I'm still convinced that Fleury would be here had the NHL not functionally put a loaded gun to our skull at the most inopportune time. Other players seeing the lengths that have been gone to to keep 87, 71, and 58 together are going to be more likely to sign here. You can't put a price on that.

Wish they'd put Rust with Geno and RR with Sid

definitely, all the analytics, eye test and whatever else you can throw out there tell you that Rakell was better on Sid’s line and Rust better w Geno…

That is the cherry on top of Mario's incredible legacy, IMO.

He built that culture.

Remember how you talked about how the Pens should aspire to be the like the mighty Florida Panthers all year because they are just such a dominant and well run organization?
Yea, find that quote.

I believe I stated that Florida was the best watch in Hockey. Then their best player got injured and they traded for a Flyer Captain.............

Little scouting report on Lindblom, when you have a sec.

Middle 6 winger. Strong forechecker. Will go
Into dirty areas. Not a pure goal scorer - gets them more mucky than anything around the net.

Great guy. Super inspirational climbing back from cancer diagnosis.

Considering all of the above, he really needs to jump at playing with Sid or Malkin on the cheap.

The sad news is.... tomorrow is now very very very boring

Im okay with that.
Not really. Next to the playoffs, this day is pretty exciting, regardless if the Pens are involved or not.

I'll be waiting with anticipation if they shed Pettersson or Dumoulin and Zucker

Instead the Pens get Geno and Letang for the price of one Sergei "Niemi come playoff time" Bobrovsky.

His character should never have been questioned. He is every bit the Pittsburgh legend Crosby is. Sid knows it, everyone should acknowledge it.
I agree.

I can still remember reading about him and dreaming of the day he would finally come over and join Sid.

Then the story comes out that they rushed him onto a plane to even get to Pittsburgh.

How can people not love this guy?

As a Wings fan let me tell you, all this does is delay the inevitable rebuild.
Have you been waiting since 2009 to come here to say this?

I would rather go out swinging than try to rebuild with the players we have

Just ask teams like Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Philly who have been trying the rebuild for years. It sounds cool until it doesn't

His final contract will be a small % of ownership and he'll get the box next to Mario. Lol
He's a great ambassador of the game for the Penguins in particular and the NHL in general. He should always be given some sort of role here. I'm sure he would be afforded that opportunity if he wants it.
