are you really trying equate Tre trading a 3rd with Dubas trading future 1sts as well his next four 2nds among other picks ?Am I allowed to play devil's advocate here.
If Dubas were still here and he made this exact trade, I think you see more reaction regarding:
-More picks out the door once again
-A retread (let's not forget, a Dubas fault was staying loyal to what he knows/knew, whether it was Soo or his Calder Marlies)
There's also the excitement of the now vs. hindsight. If this doesn't work out and we are going into next year's deadline asking where did all the picks go. Well then you can add this 3rd and 6th to the Rittich/Hutton/Nash etc etc etc that have all happened recently.
I'm not against this trade, it seems a bit steep, but based on circumstances, it absolutely makes sense. I'm just saying, it's essentially the same thing that has happened over and over again. It's just being looked at differently cause it hasn't had the opportunity to fail and because a different person made the deal. But it is the exact same deal that has been happening since the 2021 deadline (barring McCabe who had term).
Not trying to stir shit, it's just another way of looking at it.
it's truly amazing how much people loved a failed GM
