Who knows maybe they make a deal in the top 4 that moves out Brodie. People should wait and see what the plan actually is. Even if nothing else happens, this is a deal that makes a lot of sense for us.
I’d be over the moon to see Brodie traded even if it only recouped what was lost in the Booch deal, addition by subtraction…….

why are so many posts here about dubas lol

Lyubushkin is worse than nothing. He can't handle the puck, at all. If he's playing in the playoffs he will probably give the puck away at a crucial time. He sucks. Every defensemen we've played this year are better, standing pat is better than doing this. It has nothing to do with how many draft picks we have.

Dubas acquired the very same player, maybe that’s why.

For that reason alone posters like you should by-default love the player, and what’s more we got him cheaper this time.

You can already see a different team culture, nobody is getting away with anything…I’d rather go down like that than being considered the softest team around the league. And the kicker, we still have some of the best skill in the game.

They skilled players need to by in

A potential ECF matchup rival eating 50% of the salary for only a 6th is why we had to let Dubas go. As Leafs GM he is not privy to these favors. Sadly NHL still works in old dinosaur mode sometimes. You need a GM with friends.

Boosh nation reunite!!

The haters are the same people telling us Holl's metrics were good and Detroit is trying to dump him as we speak. Who cares lol.
Fortunately for those of us watching the games aren’t played on graphs.

I think it’s a good pickup for the Leafs. I just had to watch my team’s d-group throw a combined 0 hits the other night so I’m jealous.

Dude was physical AF and threw his body around if I remember correctly and he is younger then a deteriorating old 40 year old Gio. So it’s a win in my books

*deteriorated

Guy is a shell of the player that first came here, not entirely unforeseen though.

It’s just ashame the last GM never prioritized putting a proper blue line in the five years of his being here.

Only McCabe, Brodie, and Gio in all that time…yikes!

It is real. Tre is able to push players through waivers while GMs took turns plucking anybody worthwhile Dubas put on waivers.

If you just look at this trade in a vacuum and falsely assume it’s the only deal the Leafs make - then I could understand not loving it.

For now, it’s a huge man who holds his stick the right way, can PK and throw the odd big hit and makes less then league minimum.

He’s an ok 6/7 Dman at the appropriate cap hit.

Anyone losing it over this needs a hug.

I don't mind Brodie on the left hand side in a reduced role, but if he gets traded, probably should look at getting another D in return. Perhaps a cap dump in a bigger trade

Lost in all of this is the fact that we really needed a big body RD on the PK and Boosh has played more PK minutes this season than any other Leaf D.

Dmen are notoriously hard to chart with all these graphs coming out showing he is ass. (Like Benoit was)

Give him a chance before labeling him a failure.

I really hope it stays like this. Flaming out in the playoffs is the most embarrassing thing we've had to suffer but being punked on a regular basis by anyone in the mood to humiliate us ranks second.

I like this trade. It's not earth shaking or anything but still, it could potentially be a lot more impactful than the advanced stats worship club will be able to see. Hoping it will be comparable to Schenn last season is a pipe dream but still, it's something.

By the way, those who are talking about his chart, and saying it’s bad because of Anaheim. JFresh just posted Gudas chart. It got better at Anaheim.
You're missing the point: we don't care about the charts, at all. Didn't care about them when Simon Benoit was apparently was a disaster waiting to happen and don't care about them now.

Last time Boosh was here:

Definitely welcoming that back into our lineup, especially with McCabe and Benoit here now as well. The blueline should be pretty physical overall now.

Rielly - Lyubushkin
Brodie - Liljegren
Benoit - McCabe

Pretty steady from 1-6. Then in the off-season, ideally you replace Brodie with Hanifin.

People want the big name top four but need to realize there’s currently none available outside of Hanifin.

We, as in you. Congrats.

I actually don't care to blame Dubas for all the problems in the world
Yet you blame Treliving for being "useless". Treliving said the team needed to get tougher to play against, and with the moves he's made he's done that. As the season has progressed we've seen what he saw in Bertuzzi, Benoit, Domi, and Reaves. Say what you want about their consistency levels, but they've added toughness and grit to the lineup. You can see in them what Tre was hoping to get from them. I like Bert's game right now, and can see how he's going to help us in the playoffs. Reavo is playing his best hockey of the season, and has the opposition's defence looking over their shoulder. Domi stands up for his teammates and isn't afraid to mix it up during scrums.

Boosh continues this trend of making our team tougher to play against in the playoffs. Of course Boosh isn't a #2-3, which we all wanted. But Tre had to address the need for our d-corps depth and a RHD and this does that without giving up too much. Give the man some props, and let's wait to make "useless" comments till the deadline is complete.

It's kind of like politics and what we are seeing in our country. The people who like him, like and support him to a fault. The people who dislike him, make it their personality to hate him/be anti-

So in the end, everyone is obsessed and can't let go!
