He's not going to though... it's just for Carolina to send back consideration in their part of the trade I'd think... he's not even really AHL material.

If we trade Timmins, trade/demote Jones, Gregor, demote Lagesson, and bring back Jarnkrok, we have $2.8 mil in cap space to work with.
Or about what Peeke makes……..

The only move he needed to make was bringing in a partner for Rielly, and he brought in someone who proved he couldn't handle that. Treliving is so useless
Patience, there’s still plenty of time to acquire another RHD………

I actually don't care to blame Dubas for all the problems in the world
How about starting with only the ones he’s directly responsible for……..

The answer is on a good day he is a #2 and on a bad day is a really good #3, most leaf fans wouldn't know what a #1 d-man is if it bit him in the ass. We've been told for so long Morgan is a #1 that we have lowered our standards. Makar is a #1, Hughes is a #1, Hedman is a #1, Heiskanen is a #1, Morgan is not a #1. Morgan can for short stretches play like a #1 against teams having off nights but he is not nor has he ever been a true #1.
Sad, but a fair assessment of just what Morgan is and isn’t ……

He’s a top pairing dman. Hedman, Makar etc are on a level of their own and not every team has one of those.

*deteriorated

Guy is a shell of the player that first came here, not entirely unforeseen though.

It’s just ashame the last GM never prioritized putting a proper blue line in the five years of his being here.

Only McCabe, Brodie, and Gio in all that time…yikes!
The previous GM blew his wad on forwards, only had a handful of not so magic beans to ice a proper D……..

Last time Boosh was here:

That’s what I’m talking about…….

Ducks were in San Jose yesterday. Ca we even expect Lybushkin to join the team in time for tomorrows game?

Neither of them add anything to this team, just more depths guys
I agree, I wanted Tanev. I’m just going by what the leafs need most (a RD to play with Rielly) and the teams that have RD that are selling are Montreal and Columbus, hence Savard and Peeke. I would prefer someone better like Larsson but it doesn't seem realistic. Savard and Peeke are more realistic imo.

Probably in the press box

I just have this sneaking suspicion that there's going to be a trade for a player that no one's talking about

I don't mind Boosh coming back. He wouldn't have been my first choice but he'll stand his ground, throw the odd big hit and does have a knack for getting under the opponents skin. If we're making any more moves lets try and get a little faster.

And with all those better pairings and defensive players we still needed to strap him beside the #1D?
We put him with Rielly during his limited minutes because even when he was playing better than he is now, he needed somebody who could move the puck for him. Rielly can carry a pairing, is used to playing with lesser players, and has strengths that cover Boosh's weaknesses. It also let us keep together the other pairings. Playing 14 minutes a night with Rielly doesn't make him a top pairing defenseman, or mean he had the toughest matchups, and "insulation" within a team isn't just the D partner you play with.

rielly had been 1 of 3-4 best dman 200 feet of the ice last 2 post-season basically at same level than Cale Makar at 5v5.

but like hugues, he need acomplementary dmen who will bring what you need with rielly and the only time in Rielly carreer, leafs had it was with Ron Hainsey. A real top 4 shutdown D who can play physical and slow down opposite team. brodie only having 1 of those criteria. hes a good shutdown D but not physical at all. so opponnent will attack brodie because no body are affraid to get hit by brodie... so they will attack him and a lot a time force him to hook or making mistake.

the difference with hainsey or schenn... they hit hard. so by exemple if you was trying to cut in middle, sure you will be a little more scary and stay a little more on the outside, so they bought maybe 1 second or 2 of time for rielly to come back from his offensive push and give him a shot to make a defensive play. Thats why rielly need to play with a physical dman

thats a reason why rielly-brodie pair never been pretty hot.
