Yup. Sad how this has been spun around to make it seem like he's a brat or that he's a self-entitled *****.

Did the whole thing where he promised Nashville that he would sign after he finished college and then stopped taking their calls, backed out on that promise and had his agent notify the Preds so close to the trade deadline that they couldn't even move him not actually happen? Because that's the part that makes him seem like a bad person.

Has there been any confirmation on this happening? No, so until proven otherwise, the kid isn't guilty of such actions. Calling him a 'bad person' on the basis of accusations is downright ignorant.

So he's a bad person because he decided not to sign too late for the Preds to try and screw another team in a trade knowing he's not going to sign?

Who knows how it actually played out. Polie also threw Suter under the bus when he left in a very similar way.

In the end even that doesn't matter. Nashville did trade him, for an asset equal to the pick they drafted him with.

Kyle Connor's year was 10X more impressive than Vesey's while being 3 and 1/2 years younger.

& people think this guy was the best player in College hockey

Give me a break.

The Hobey Baker has always been a popularity contest without looking at real accomplishments.

Perhaps the voters know that Connor played in a complete disaster of a conference, but you played D 1 hockey, so you should know that, right?

Popularity contest? We're they voting for home coming Queen?

Perhaps you would know Vesey only had 5 points in 10 games against NCAA tournament teams.

Talk about feasting on weaker teams.

So you've linked to me something I was already aware of. This proves absolutely nothing, its one camps word versus the others. And Poile himself even mentions Jimmy received "Bad advice or counsel" so how does the blame lie solely on Jimmy' shoulders in such a case?

Regardless, what you've linked me towards provides absolutely nothing. Nobody can confirm whether that was true, or if Poile was just angry (clearly was) and took out his frustration.

Jeez, you don't have to get so salty over the whole thing.

There really isn't that much hype about Vesey. People project him to be a top 6 winger. There's just a lot of speculation about where he will sign because there's nothing else going on and he's a free NHL-ready prospect.

Why is this prospect so highly spoken? Looking at his age, draft number and even last season speaks nothing more than avarage prospect to me.

Free top 6 potential prospect. Who wouldnt want to add him. But yes, he isnt some stud prospect. Just an average top 6 prospect. Every team probably has 2-3 of these guys. Having 1 more doesnt hurt anything.

Well considering THN (voted on by 10 scouts) and Button had him as a top 15 prospect prior to the draft (so not including the 2016 class), I'd say there is ample reason to be excited if you can get him for free. His numbers the last 2 years are pretty impressive given his supporting cast.

It gets amplified ten fold because hes free, and its an ELC.

"Heres this top 9 (most would say top 6) forward with a very low cap hit."
