I find it interesting that Tkachuk gets so much vitriol directed at him from fans of a team with Drew Doughty and Dustin Brown on it. He might be a little more unhinged than those two, but they're both historically quite dirty players, themselves.

Umm, because he elbowed our Doughty in the head, you dip **** Calgary fan.

I'm gonna "find it interesting" to see what y'all say when you guys are tossed from the playoffs in the first round. I might stop by to say hello like so many of you guys are doing.

And it'll be oh so sweet. ****er.

Doughty loves to chirp and has a short temper, but he's not dirty. Brown and Doughty don't go after other players.

You should be happy that Tkachuck elbowed Doughty, because it exposed this team, they played soft the whole season. Evander Kane ran Doughty out of Winnipeg, Drew did nothing to stop it, nether did any of his team mates. And Terry Murray got fired after that game, Dean called up Nolan, King, Voynov, and traded Jack Johnson for Jeff Carter. Keith Jones and Mike Milbury said everything that had to said about the Kings last night. Jake and Drew are going to have to stand up for themselfs. Drew was exposed for being a whiner with a big mouth, he's always running his mouth on ice but never backs it up. Hell even Wayne Gretzky, and Sidney Crosby are tougher than those two. They both had to fight once or twice in their career. Drew dosen't have to fight but how about trying to hit Tkachuk, and not crying to the refs when he gives you a little slash on the leg.

LOL!!! Missed me!!!

This shows what a heads up player Drew is. Most guys would of had their heads taken off. I didn't expect Tkachuk to be going after Drew all night like he did. This paticular play could of been real ugly for Drew, but shows how he see everything happening on he ice. As far as I'm concerned this head hunting play needs to be answered for. Looking forward for when the Lames go into LA. I expect blood for targeting Drew b

How do they look ??? I know that was the top everything defensive pairing in Ontario...

They looked fine out there, Forbort had a real good game. I'm real glad to see DS finally gave him some pp time. He is real good at keeping the puck in at the blueline and he has an accurate, low shot. He won't beat a goalie with his shot but getting it through for tips is what you need on the pp.

Gravel needs to muscle up and learn to defend more efficiently (less running around). Nonetheless, two big guys that can really move their feet bodes quite well moving forward.

Hot take time:

- Pretty embarrassing response outside of Iginla fighting a HW for hitting Kopitar.

- Andreoff is a clown. Once again, he doesn't actually get into a fight or do anything. When Tkachuk ran Doughty, there should have been a brawl IMMEDIATELY. Don't cuff him and take his helmet off...immediately start wailing on him and don't even ask him if he wants to fight. Then Forbort coming over half-assed and pushing him slightly with this look on his face like "What am I supposed to do here?" Andreoff is a nobody and Forbort is a rookie on this team. Your--arguably--best player has a huge run taken at him by the same 19-year old rookie that elbowed him last game and you just let him ****ing do it? Embarrassing.

- Doughty is a *****. This is a known fact, however. Still, he should be settling things with Tkachuk. I thought there may have been a bit of "let's save retribution for the home game next week" going in to last night so they still did more than I expected; however, if the McNabb fight took care of Tkachuk "answering the bell" then the run he took later means he has to be dealt with again with "again" being a very generous term since he once again made the Kings look like *****es. Doughty better fight him at home next Thursday and get this over with.

- If Milbury gave the Kings a "D+" for how they handled it, I'd also say he is wrong because the "+" is too generous. If he and Jones called them out for being soft, then he is 100% correct.

- Iginla is a stud.

- Still the most exciting Kings game this year, IMO. Hoping we can get a nice carry over for next Thursday's game.

-How the **** does Sutter not dress Nolan for this one?

Tkachuk is a moron. His runs at DD last night might have been ok were it not for the fact that they have another game with LA. More than likely the kings will be playing with house money by then so the flames have everything to lose and nothing to gain with more physical brawling.

When did Doughty become dirty?

Worst idea since the Maginot line...just send engraved invitations to every pest in the league.

When did Doughty become dirty?

Doughty likes to chirp but I don't see dirty.
Brown used to dive and had a couple of bad hits, not intentional but bad injuries happened. Elbowing someone in the face and saying it wasn't dirty because he did it twice earlier in the game and didn't hit Drew in the face before.

Would I like to see DD take it to Tkachuk sure. But he is a star no different than the elite in the game. That's why there are certain players on teams to take care of the elite. Add the fact you never know what may happen in a fight, there is always the potential for a very serious injury , like getting popped and hitting your head on the ice. DD has earned the right to be protected by others.

This "pest" is one of their best players, not Tyson Nash.

He's also continuing to do whatever he wants out there.

Besides, who are all of these "pests" in the current NHL?

Other superstar players stick up for themselves. Guy is wearing a letter on his sweater. This also isn't a case of a pest playing Doughty hard: he flat out elbowed him in the chops, called him and the Kings out in the media and then proceeded to try to take his head off at center ice.

You can say to send an engraved invitation to all of the other pests in the league if he fights him: I can say that invitation has already been sent out by how he and the Kings have handled it.

They haven't fully legislated balls out of the sport, at least not yet.

The point of pests like Tkachuk is to get star players off the ice for 5 minutes, and to get into their heads. I think the Kings responded accordingly with a pest like this guy. McNabb fought him in the first period, Iginla responded to the Kopitar hit, and then the Kings dominated the game and won it, showing that Tkachuk's antics don't work with this mature squad.

If Doughty fought Tkachuk, then Tkachuk wins the battle even if Doughty knocks him our or if the fight is a draw. There is just no benefit.

I'm not denying Doughty runs his mouth, but I just don't see how Doughty can be labeled as dirty

Sure, if you think this team has a chance of making the playoffs.

Since that is not happening, I don't care if they won the game. Of course, the big thing was the Iginla fight and not McNabb doing nothing to Tkachuk.

Kings really have nothing but pride to play for at this point and--just like most of the games--they are losing there as well.

Also, the point of Matthew Tkachuk is to score 50 points as a teenager. Simply labeling him a pest like he is Sean Avery or something is an insult to his skill level.

He's going to be a huge part of a division rival for a long time. He tested Doughty and the Kings with the elbow and they failed. He tested them both again last night and they--IMO--failed again.

Iginla stepped up but he kind of doesn't count because he is currently just a rental and not part of the core of this team or at least the guys that have been here all season. Remove Iginla from last night's game and we are still sitting here looking at a bunch of guys that essentially did nothing except have McNabb fall on top of Tkachuk.

All that being said, I'm still most upset with every Kings player on the ice when Tkachuk ran Doughty: especially Andreoff. Should of been a riot but, instead, Andreoff somehow gets a GM for a wimpy roughing penatly.

Andreoff is so useless. Don't drink, don't smoke...what do you do?

Not surprised this team lost it's balls. Richards, Williams, Regehr, Mitchell, Greene... a lot of times those were the guys stepping up in situations like this in the past.

LA is like the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz and I think that's a part of why they suck this year.

This team really is missing the leadership of a Richards, Regehr and Mitchell types where the gloves come off instantaneously when your star players get hit.

Remember how Canucks used to have their way with the Kings prior to the 2012 cup run. Kessler, Bieska, Burrow etc used to own LA physically.

Last night was a start, but still a underwhelming response to me. When your star player and defending norris trophy winner is targeted like this, we need an old fashion line brawl. Like the Pens-Isles game from 2-11-11

We've lost all of the "criminals" in our army.

Sure do miss the era of the likes of Marty McSorley, Jay Miller, Rick Tocchet, Adam Deadmarsh, Ian Laperriere, Stu Grimson, etc. being around to keep things honest on the ice.

Of course these days you have to be useful on the ice as well, but guys like them, like Iginla or Simmonds, truly are a rare breed in today's NHL.

We've lost all of the "criminals" in our army.

It's another effect from the Voynov situation, and those faced by Richards and Stoll. The team distances itself from those kinds of players now, where it once thrived with them.

So you're looking for something more along this line out of Doughty. Also, looking at another player in the penalty box when Deadmarsh entered, there was Ian Lapierre. He would have fought Tkachuk immediately if he was on the ice after the run Tkachuk took at Doughty.

I find it interesting that Tkachuk gets so much vitriol directed at him from fans of a team with Drew Doughty and Dustin Brown on it. He might be a little more unhinged than those two, but they're both historically quite dirty players, themselves.

I would love to see the proof that Doughty is a dirty player. I also love the fact that Flames fans continue to defend Tkachuck's elbow by moving the goal posts and accusing Doughty of being a dirty player. It's quite laughable
