The 2nd, 10th, and 11th columns lost the season for them. Just a waste of an elite 6th column.

It's read in rows from left to right haha. In which case, we were pretty much doomed after the 20 game mark, where we couldn't put any string of wins together.

Kopitar cold in the first half, Carter cold in the second half(more like the last 2 months). Gaborik injured and then invisible most nights. Toffoli scoring at a 20 goal pace most of the year, before and after his own multi-week injury. Pearson isn't going to carry a line.

A team with a number of questions coming into the season couldn't afford more questions. They needed some more out of Gaborik, and that didn't even start well. Pearson has had a career year, so can't complain there. Kopitar and Carter can't be polar opposites. If you had said Toffoli would be sitting at 14 goals at the end of March back in September, that alone would've had people saying the Kings have no chance. Kopitar and Toffoli at less than 15 goals? Not only no chance, but that's 30th overall territory. But nobody had those two with so few goals, Sutter or no Sutter.

You're counting on Kopitar, Carter, and Toffoli to be 20-25+. Pearson, hoping he would take another step. Throw another 20 goals to the Kings total(which isn't some insane unreachable number), and they're at least fighting for the division right now.

Good game tonight guys. LA showed a lot of heart and thanks for beating the fLames. I hate that worm Tkachuk and was glad to see him get a rough ride tonight. Next game, wipe that smirk off his face permanently.

It seems like there are more arguments in the GDT after a win than a loss.

i think its people finally having enough of people crapping on kopitar Hes been our best player since jan and still having people crap on him like hes doing nothing lately. There is only so much a person can take of reading the same people saying the same things when its not true Its been a long frustrating season in here and it was bound to blow up eventually

Great! What did we win?

He's the captain and the highest paid player. "Since January" isn't good enough.

Not one person in here is saying hes having a great season However the time to complain was when he wasn't playing well not when he is and since jan he has been. Try blaming Carter and Toffoli or gaborik They have have been cold since the trade deadline ,

I would argue that despite putting up points he has not been "playing well." Turnovers, weak on the puck, poor defensive plays. Whatever the reason, he has not been himself all year, and when you demand to get paid what he does, he simply has to be better. Right or wrong, the captain goes down with the ship.

I would argue he was in the lineup at under 100% and took him a while to get back to it. This has a bigger impact then most realize imo. However your right in saying hes not been himself most of the year. However you have to admit hes played more like himself since jan. and deserves some respect for battling back after a horrible start. I think its disrespectful to said captain to whine about his play when its been remarkable better since jan. He has preformed up to his normal stats this calender year.

One thing I do love about Tkachuk is that he kept going hard right back at everyone in terms of hitting. And even if he was a total choad about it (lol dropping gloves and charging Muzzin and McNabb trying to throw before theyr'e ready) I give him props for his willingness to oblige a fight considering he's hid behind the instigator all year (2 fighting majors prior to tonight, what a ****ing spot picker for a dirty player).

The coverage was embarrassing though. Calling Doughty a coward for not fighting by himself as if HE was the one who did something wrong was lol.

Kopitar is the last guy to make excuses, but really it may have been better if he shut it down for longer if he was still feeling the effects of the injury. We don't know for sure what was bothering him, so it's hard to say.

I also think there is a bit of Brown's Syndrome going on. Don't underestimate the work that two young kids 17 months apart are. They don't care who you are or what you do, they have needs and demands. Two that close are ridiculously exhausting.

I find it interesting that Tkachuk gets so much vitriol directed at him from fans of a team with Drew Doughty and Dustin Brown on it. He might be a little more unhinged than those two, but they're both historically quite dirty players, themselves.

I ditched my cable so I only have a Kodi. I got the Sportsnet feed. They were much less homerish than I expected. The former GM of Minnesota I think it was or Columbus, whoever, thought Doughty should've showed more, but Elliotte Freedman and the regular anchor thought it was fine that he turned the other cheek. They didn't expect him to respond. He's a rat, but he better get used to fighting if he's going to play like that. And his whole throw the elbow out to counter any hits coming towards him is going to get him suspended a lot in his career if he keeps it up.

And for ****s sake Kings, really, McNabb is the one to do anything? He's never going to go with Clifford. McNabb is a hitter, and a terrible fighter. If a guy does that to your star, it really should've been Andreoff to fight him. He's not a heavy, he's a middleweight just like Tkachuk, but a much better fighter.

This is kind of what the Blue Jackets used to do (til this year), suck at the beginning and then turn it on at the end when they had nothing to play for.

Your 10 million cap hit, needs to have a good full season.

Assume he will hit the ground running next year, and this year was just an outlier.

Neither Doughty nor Brown have ever done anything like Tkachuk does. Doughty is anything but dirty, he has never been suspended, and I cant ever remember him even having a hearing. Brown has been suspended once in 13 years, for someone who hits as much as he has he is a very clean player. Tkachuk has already gained a reputation in his rookie year.

Nolan is probably our dirtiest now, but he plays sparingly. The last Kings player even close to Tkachuk's level of dbaggery was Stoll, who was known for the occasional suspendable hit/headshot. Tkachuk is going to end up like Torres if he doesn't adjust his game.

Well I think Tkachuk has already equaled Dustin Brown in total games suspended and exceed Doughty. Though I could be wrong about that.

Brown played on the edge no doubt, but there is a big difference between Dustin Brown and Matt Cooke. Will see what future path Tkachuk takes.

If say Adrian Kempe (who's nothing like Tkachump, but he's a rookie) threw a dirty elbow into Gaudreau's head and was suspended for it and then talked **** in the media afterwards, you guys would be spitting just as much vitriol towards him. Even if you guys have historically quite dirty players in Engelland and Chiasson on your roster.

Doughty hasn't been suspended but he's the king of crosschecking and tacky little plays; he's very good at getting away with them. I don't like the fact that Tkachuk elbowed Doughty in the chops or slewfooted whoever, but a lot of the anger at him in this thread seems to be "how dare he do <little crappy thing x>".

I suppose. I'd personally probably keep it focused on the acts that were really over the line, though (although that's just me), whereas this thing with Tkachuk seems to be more of a general anger about everything he does.

I think kopitar is a type of player that will play if hes able to get in injury or not. If hes healthy enough to get in he plays. This is what i think effected him He come back before he was fully healed however no one can prove it one way or the other only one that knows is him and i doubt he ll say he come back to early even if he did. I think you also forgot the extra hockey at the world cup i think it may have took a toll on him as well.

So I guess about 90% of the league must be dirty then if we're going by this liberal criteria.

He's elbowed two Kings in the face this year. Those were both really over the line. But deflect all you want.

Notice I said I like how he goes hard otherwise. It's similar to Doughty. I loved their little battles until Matthew went full angry teenager in a beer league.

Also notice you're on the Kings board so you're going to see things you don't like. I'll repeat what I said earlier in the thread, I'll never understand why opposing fans visit and look for something to ***** about.
