Yeah, cut out this crazy talk about putting a young goal scorer in a position to score goals. But hey, this talk about signing a 40 year old who is all but at the end of his career, is completely sane.

First, what has Brodz shown that warrants him time in a top-6 slot? You want to pencil him in for the 2017-18 season as a top fwd? If we hypotheticllay land Iggy for another one year deal, wouldn't it be prudent to slot Brodz on the third line, and let him learn from Iggy for a year. Brodz has size and a shot, Iggy may rub off on him.

Iggy has a fierce nature, a high motor, and can still play, as evident by his stint with our club. Why wouldn't you want him around our youngsters still trying to figure out their game?

Stop trying to be adversarial for the sake of being adversarial and look at the larger picture. You really want to pencil in an unproven rook in a top 6 fwd spot over a cup of coffee (hypothetically) of Jerome? When said rookie(s) could learn a thing or two from him over the course of a whole season? And said vet has been incredibly productive for us.

Yeah, cut it out.

We won a game!

And the lowest points per game average of his career by a good margin. Keep burying your head in the sand.

Nobody is arguing that Kopitar has had a good year. Everybody knows he was invisible for big stretches. It's the constant "blame Kopitar" groupthink that pops up every game day thread that gets old.

As of January 1 the Kings were in the hunt for a playoff spot. Since mid-February they've fallen off a cliff, going 8-13. In these 21 games Kopitar has put up 16 points, which is more than any other Kings player in that stretch.

I get it. Kopitar hasn't played up to his contract, so it's his fault the Kings struggled. Never mind that Kopitar has been the Kings' best player down the stretch. That doesn't fit with your view, so keep kicking that dead horse.

So much

Love feeding the Flames their lunch, and love that all the **** talk by Tkachuk found himself completely out of his league trying so hard to make an impact...he's better when he doesn't do that. He made himself 2012 Kesler tonight. In his own head due to the press. Mark Messier he is not.

I'd say it was a tossup between who was more embarrassing, Gaudreau, Stajan, Tkachuk, or the Calgary media and blogosphere.

That team is full of theatrics, yet they like to go around calling others like the Oilers a team full of divers.

I do not like the Ducks whatsoever, but it's going to be fun seeing the Flames get embarrassed by them in the playoffs, again. That team is incapable of winning a game at The Ponda Center.

Man, I feel like celebrating. When wins are hard to come by, you appreciate them more.

Oh, and this:

Kopitar has 28 even strength points and is the second worst forward in plus minus with a -12 (only other forward worse than him is Dowd).

Kopitar hasn't done enough to justify his salary this season. You want us to celebrate how he's playing now when the team is about to miss the playoffs for the second time in three years?

You must have really low standards.

I don't want anyone to celebrate about how anyone on this team has played this season. Complete disaster from top to bottom with the exception of Carter, Pearson, Lewis, Forbort, and maybe Doughty. Kopitar has sucked. I'm not arguing that.

Going back to earlier in the thread, you and Bandit basically blew off the fact that Kopitar has been productive down the stretch. I'm making the point that pointing the finger at Kopitar exclusively after every game is wrong headed. You can point the finger at just about everyone; Kopitar has delivered when it mattered.

Johnny Crybaby- he slashed my hand , so I'll shake the other hand that wasn't touched. He broke my stick, even though it was broken before .

Stajan: Oh headsnap on a clean hit by Muzzin by the glass.

Tkachuk: trying to draw, flop, instigate anything to be the center of attention. Dropping the gloves on his first shift was comical! Nice turtle when AA went after him.

Props to Iggy and Andy. Kings played a team game once these two guys stood up for their stars.

maybe he should skate circles around you and punch some sanity into that brain of yours?

Kopitar didn't deliver **** in that Blues game.

lol Denial forever.Kopi deserves every thread that calls him out.He is a 14 million dollar player playing like a third line player.Carter was the one keeping this team in a playoff hunt while Kopi took the season off.:shakehead

Fake news. Kings are in a playoff spot and Stanley Cup bound because Kopitar is having the most productive season of his young career. The Kings are also undefeated since March 29.

Wait, are we cranky tonight because we won and hurt our draft position? ;) No worries, we'll probably lose the next game.

Gaborik's comments at lakingsinsider.com didn't seem like anything out of the ordinary to me. Sutter said something interesting, though:

On whether both teams were distracted by Matthew Tkachuk in the first half of the game:

No, I didn’t think that at all. I think people pay to see emotion, too. It’s good to see that once in a while. It might be, quite honest, what maybe has been lacking in our team.

Again, since January 1, Kopitar has produced at his normal pace. Nobody is arguing that he took a half season off, but he's not "playing like a third line player" and hasn't for quite a while.

Are you denying that Kopitar has been the most productive forward on the Kings for the past three months? Look it up yourself. Is Kopitar the only reason the Kings have gone 8-13 since mid-February? Here's the playoff chances for the Kings. Fine until mid February, then their chance of making the playoffs fall off a cliff.

Speaking of Carter, yes he carried the team for the first half of the season, but what has he done since mid-February? 21 games, 11 points, 3 goals, 2 of which were empty netters, the other he scored last night. Plenty of scapegoats to go around my friend.
