for what its worth, he went for more then the initial trade that fell through.Respectfully, I'm inclined to disagree with this premise. If an experienced GM agrees to a trade, this automatically sets the value that every other GM in the league has to honour and adhere to ? What if that GM is a rookie and has proven toward making questionable trades ? I have great difficulty in accepting such an assertion. Most GM's in this league do not allow other GM's to speak for them, or establish how they value players.
all the first trade did was established value, the gm (windsor) now can call everyone and say 'i had this done for this player, do you want to match it'. it looked like they had a few teams willing, so windsor was able to leverage that into a higher price.
no one HAS to honour it, but its a measuring stick for future conversations.
