Wrong.
Hyman trade, Muzzin trade, Campbell trade, Kapanen trade. Those were excellent trades.
That won't stop the narrative though.
Well I want McDavid and am okay with giving up the 7th. If Dubas can't pull this off, he is a bad trader.Ok. Tell me which players you want at the deadline, and then tell me the price you are okay giving up. We can reevaluate after the deadline.
An elite shot, with that motor, he’s going to be a good one.Yeah, I want to see him on team ASAP playing with JT and Willy. I was so impressed by his play in the play-in.
The guy who cost his team game 4 on an OT penalty![]()

So just because Dubas targets someone and gives up more then a few fans want, he is a bad trader? Thats an awful argument. Tell me aside from the Kadri deal he lost out on?
After the press conference, which Leaf pickups would make sense, if we had a wish list?
I won't speak about their contracts or who we would trade, but simply what would make sense to me for this team to become a bona fide Cup threat, top two or three in the league if we assumed Dubas could make it work.
For me, a grand slam would be a Foligno up front and Ekholm in the backend. Big asks and we obviously would need to shed salary. That is what I would view as very strong, "we are aiming for the Cup" moves. I'm also one who believes picking up captains adds more leadership, and every teams desires more leaders. He played a solid, smart series last year in the playoffs, a real team guy.
If we could pick up those pieces and keep Robertson, that would allow Leafs to have he and Galchenyuk available for the playoffs or if they feel they are needed/prepared at any point.
Has a huge frame (6-4, 215 pounds), puck-moving ability and a big shot from the point. Usually keeps his game very simple and minimizes his mistakes. Owns all-round acumen. Does not have a lot of grit or toughness, so he does not always take full advantage of his big frame at the NHL level. Also, he does not shoot the puck nearly enough. |
Long Range Potential: Quality, all-round defenseman. |

* Wants to get a trade done quickly
* Repeatedly mentioned the quarantine period
* Willing to trade a top prospect
* Open to rentals
* Happy with D and G
Putting all of this together means he's eying forwards on American teams with some or all of them being rentals. I'm also assuming he's put one of the top prospects in an offer already and wants the other GM to pull the trigger.
Just Ekhholm alone would change this team so much, that would be an embarrassment of riches on Defence, maybe top 5 defence core in the NHL? WOW that is a dream eh?

We should get a consensus on how many people wanna do Hall for Robertson. Then compare the deal to the actual trades we pull. See if dubas pays more than the people want or less.What would the reaction be if Dubas traded Robertson for Hall straight up. I'd puke... its why I don't like this next few days.

mostly because I can see it happening -DOH!Just threw up in my mouth a little reading this
Ok, now we've got a standard. Should be interesting to see what happens.Dubas isn't the one to do panic overpayment trades, so I doubt he moves a top prospect for Hall.

Seems the most likelyI bet the prospect he would trade is Amirov. After all our window is open now and Amirov is probably 2 years away while Robbie is just about ready to step in.
Imagine Dubas pulls a Reilly for Ekholm trade.
