Horvat has become a Bergeron level faceoff demon since moving to the Isles. Point scoring regressed back to the smean now that he has to play in a tight system. So at least LL got his bang for buck in the circle at least.
Since moving to the Isles?

I would say even more dominant than when he was with vancouver. 59 FOW 29 FOL last 5
Impressive. Devil's advocate: those were against some of these worst faceoff teams in the NHL and he's been taking less faceoffs.

Don't worry though, I am not trying to downplay Bo's faceoff ability. I actually just wanted to make sure you weren't implying he wasn't anything special in Vancouver. It's been rough watching the Canucks take faceoffs since January 31st, lol.

Pretty solid list. I might put Zibanejad in there somewhere near the bottom. I just like his style of play. Barkov is getting on this just because of defense, I assume?
It's a down offensive year for Barkov but he's still a top 10C

Not a bad choice, Zib is 7th among all centres in points over the last 4 seasons.

The doghouse
I love how Thompson is being put into the top 10. When the dude is allergic to playing defense and his main value comes from scoring and he is shooting almost 20%.

Imagine considering a lethal shot is a negative lol. Yea he is shooting at 17%. He shot at over 15% last year too. It’s why he has 80 goals in his last 140.

That is a GOOD thing. Not a BAD thing.

Good shot = good

2. Connor McDavid
3. Elias Pettersson
4. Jack Hughes
5. Sidney Crosby
6. Tage Thompson
7. Jack Eichel
8. Auston Matthews
9. Brayden Point
10. Patrice Bergeron

Based on even strength points per game. I put in Patrice Bergeron who's defensive upside makes him a top 10 center and took out Draisaitl because he plays on McDavid's wing too much.
Pettersson who never finished top ten in center scoring before this season is somehow top five?

You guys do realize he is riding a huge puck luck wave this year, right?

Just like Gaudreau last season. Where is Gaudreau now? That's right.

I'm thinking he's just pretty good, to be honest. His underlying metrics support his production. Neither Tage nor Hughes broke into the top 10 before this season, either, but it's hard to argue that they're not top 10 Cs either.

Bergeron shouldn't be top 10 because "his offense having fallen off"?

You do understand that Bergeron is probably going to win another Selke this year?

I really wish people would stop rating players simply on goals/assists and more on their overall game. Bergeron might not put up ppg #'s this year, at 37 y/o, but he is still the complete package at center.

He completely deserves to be on any list of #10 centers.....and high on that list.
While I can see it both ways and he is probably on my list most days since he has the experience factor, his offensive drop this year is huge and he is currently 46th among NHL centers in points and even a Selke isn't enough for many and it's understandable.

No.

12.79% 5v5 on-ice shooting percentage is not sustainable.

Regression incoming next season.

its crazy that McDavid is as good as he is but is ranked 52nd in faceoff wins. I guess every monster has a skill they are just normal at

Yet in your different take, you list Crosby as 3rd yet in FOW% he is 45th at 53.3% (when filtering guys having more than 50 faceoffs and 25 games). He also ranks #1 in FOL. Of course more opportunity will garner more wins...so I included Crosby's losses to illustrate this too in the inverse.

McDavid sits at 52.0% FOW% which is decently average (as you said)....but it would appear your "different take" does skew things. McDavid has taken 593 fewer faceoffs than Crosby or 600 on the nose fewer than #1 Bergeron....so it would be crazy if he was anywhere near the top of your list :)

That's trash bro, Pettersson the top 10 in NHL scoring and having selke votes plus the league leader in shorthanded points out of your top 10?? You put Kopitar there? 🤣

51% corsi
51% shot share
50% scoring chance share
49% high-danger corsi share

Not what I would call "Tilting the ice", but maybe you watch hockey differently than me.

Expected goals for at 5v5- 41
Actual goals for at 5v5- 55

Something wonky going on there.

You seem jealous bro...puck luck lol..EP40 has been getting better and developing both offensively and defensively but keep coping

At least he doesnt need McDavid and Drai to inflate his stats like RNH. He is doing it solo with Miller on 2nd line. Petersson will keep getting better
