The bitter Kings fan in me knows -without going through the thread- that Kopitar (Pretty on par with Bergeron in every way) isn't going to be nearly appreciated as he should be.
For my money, other than Crosby, Bergeron and Kopitar have been the best 2 centres in this league over the last 15 years. Mcdavid is on a different level of course out of the new crop. If I was starting a team tomorrow and could have any 2 centres at age 20 to start my team with (Crosby and Mcdavid excluded) Its Kopitar and Bergeron.

As a habs fan I'll take another King as my 3rd centre too in Phil Danault.

Bergeron is on pace for just over 60 points this season. Time to let it go, guys, he is no longer a top 10 center let alone a top 5 (as I've seen on some lists).
Yea who needs those multi dimensional player’s that play both offense and defense!
This is just a list of one dimensional, centers that can play only half the game, then there’s Bergeron, the guy that all future 2 way centers will be measured against. Should make 2 lists, first can be for the centers that just score and do nothing else, second can be for real centers that actually play the position correctly.

The majority of the players in these lists are not one-dimensional. You think guys like Matthews, Crosby, Hughes, Point and Pettersson "can't play the position correctly"? Give me a break. As good as Bergeron's defense is, it doesn't make up for the fact that he's pacing for 60 points.

The bruins record says otherwise, and he is huge reason for that record. He’s been to what ,3 cups, won 1 and currently working to add a 4th to his resume. Some of these guys have been in the league for 5 mins and people are tripping over themselves to crown then the best ever. Let’s at least give their nhl testies time to drop before we start the coronations of Tage Thompson and the like.

I mean Ovechkin has won just as many Cups as Bergeron has, and he's about as bad defensively as Bergeron is great. So I don't think the Bruins record this season, or his name on the Cup from 12 years ago necessarily puts him in the top 10.

He's scoring at a lower clip than he has in recent years, in a league where scoring is trending up.

Actually the fact it was 12 years ago is pretty good reason for his deserving to be there. In 2-3 years when these generational talents start showing age, and the goal totals slow, what others part of their game will they go to? Bergerons offensive numbers may have dipped but his defensive numbers are actually getting getting better which is hard to believe. I’ll take Bergeron game and career over 2-3 years of record breaking goal seasons and zero cups .

I don't think the question in the OP is about the top 10 center careers though, it's who are the top 10 centers right now. Obviously Bergeron has had a better career than say Hughes, but is he better than him today? I'd say probably not.
