For this season only. Some guys are so close they could be interchanged. I wrestled with Draisaitl because he spends a lot of time on the wing, but decided to leave him in. It was either "he's a C and he's 2nd", or "he's a W and isn't on the list".
1. McDavid
2. Draisaitl
3. McKinnon
4. Crosby
5. J. Hughes
6. Bergeron
7. Thompson
8. Barkov
9. Point
10. Matthews

While these lists may be subjective, any list that is 'for this season only' that doesn't include Elias Pettersson is objectively wrong.

I had him in. I pulled him out so I didn't look like I was trolling the Leaf fans by leaving Matthews out. But yes, he's having a great year.
Based on this season only, I'd take Point out instead of Matthews. Petey would be ~6 imo.

What's the argument for having Hughes over EP for performance for this season?

Based on what exactly? That he scored 6 more goals in two fewer games played? That's the only stat that's better than EP this year.

I can see one argued that Hughes have the higher ceiling because he's younger, but current year performance? Some of you have Hughes at 4-5 range and EP isn't even top 10.

its crazy that McDavid is as good as he is but is ranked 52nd in faceoff wins. I guess every monster has a skill they are just normal at
If there is a skill to be normal at that is it. He's at 52%. If he would have been at 58.4% which would put him in the top 10 for centers with 250 or more draws statistically it would have improved the Oilers goal differential by less than 1 goal.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a player who is viewed so differently between fans opinions and players and coaches when they are interviewed than Kopitar.

I don't understand why people put Barkov on these top 10 C lists. He feels like a name people throw on these lists to make it seems like they know more about hockey than everyone else.

Convince me he's better than Aho, EP, Hughes, Point. Hell, convince me he's better than Kopitar, Thompson or Malkin? I would expect even Tavares or Zibby to beat him on a number of facets.

And Bo Horvat has the second most face off wins
Horvat has become a Bergeron level faceoff demon since moving to the Isles. Point scoring regressed back to the mean now that he has to play in a tight system. So at least LL got his bang for buck in the circle at least.
