I was one arguing for Swayman/Vladar... But anointing neither of the "the starter". Battle for starts keeping them both fresh/active and competitive.
Ullmark was much better tonight. Much more confident coming out to challenge shooters and more square to the shooter than he was in preseason. Still looks awfully awkward at times though and still saw some shots go through him. Positive trajectory overall.
I get that logic. I understand the argument. In my head though - that's the ideal - and you simply can't plan around best case scenarios.
I have no idea if Ullmark is The Guy - just happy they brought in someone they thought could/would be a #1 starter.
No idea if Swayman is going to be all that and a bag of chips either.
It's a tough slough and you're best bet is having a solid veteran and an upcoming kid that shows promise. It challenges the vet while giving the yute enough time to round out his game and not be in the spotlight all the time.
