Dryden had 8 ties that season. No OT.

How many of those 8 do you think Montreal wins if there is OT?

That said, this has been the best regular season performance I've seen for Bruins goalie.

Hard to say. Most of their ties were to fairly mediocre but not bad teams. They had one tie to the horrid Red Wings and one to a good Sabres team. Even if you assume 6 wins there, it's a similar pace to what Ullmark had this year.

Ullmark has been stellar. Love the guy.

Did anybody notice how much quicker Swayman was after Ullmark gave himself the last few minutes off?

Don’t come for my head on this one. Just a casual observation

Swaymans fantastic. Swayman is Better than the starting goalies on most of the teams in the league imo. Better than the leafs, hurricanes and Florida that’s for sure.

And somehow ullmarks slightly better !

Ullmark was just so consistent this year. He was on his A- or above game in 90+% of his starts this year.

Swayman, seemed to have an issue with throwing an absolute clunker out there once a month or so.

I love that Linus, who is all about hugs and positivity, was absolutely set to obliterate Tkachuk if it weren't for the refs.

You gotta watch out for the quiet ones. ;)

Maybe if he had played just a little better the rest of the year they would already have been in the playoffs (in a much, much weaker western conference, might I add) and there would have been no need to play 13 straight.

They also barely outperformed their season average in those 13 games so... well done, I guess? His save percentage was 92.7% down that stretch, which is good (and a fair bit better than his season average... so, again, maybe play a bit better earlier in the season?), but not earth-shattering. Ullmark had a save percentage of 94.4% in his last 13 starts. 23.3% better when compared to a perfect goalie (i.e. 23.3% of the distance between Hellebuyck's performance in those 13 games and a 100% SVS%).

What would it be for goaltenders? Only 7 guys in the league this year cracked 60.

Even 50 seems too high. Ullmark played 49.

I could live with 40 but let's be honest, no goalie who plays less than 40 games is getting nominated anyways.

The two guys getting consideration sounds like Hellebucyk and Sorokin. He played 15 less games than Hellebucyk and 13 less than Sorokin. Yet he still has more wins than both while posting superior GAA and SP. Should they get more votes than Ullmark based on just appearing more?

It's been a decade now since we've seen a 60+ appearance goaltender win a cup. Should Ullmark not win a Vezina because his team is trying to win a championship and manage his load?
How do we feel about this now?

Ullmark is crumbling with a heavier work load and his numbers have gone to complete shit. I would say the constant rest was a major factor in ullmarks numbers. I do wonder what his numbers would look like after a more rigorous 60+ game season.

I don't honestly think it has anything to do with workload.

I think the guy is injured.

I think its a combination of him not being a playoff performer and workload. Hes never played this many games in a row in his NHL career, maybe in the minors he has, but idk. Hes allowed at least 4 goals in 5 out of his 8 playoff games. .888 save percentage with a 3.54 GAA in the playoffs. On the verge of losing the bruins two straight playoff series in back-to-back years.

How many more playoff series can you allow him to go on with those putrid numbers?
