Terrible news about his pup. His dogs are clearly family. (as it should be).
Good work on this I recommend it if you haven’t already read the article.A look at Linus Ullmark’s path to stardom. The Bruins goaltender is having a season for the ages and it’s been quite the road for the 29-year old Swede. What does everyone think Montgomery will come playoff time regarding his goalies? Ride one or continue to split starts?
Diving Deep: Looking At Bruins' Linus Ullmark's Path To Stardom - The Hockey Writers Latest News, Analysis & More
Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark is the NHLs best goaltender in 2022-23, but path toward stardom is what we look back at here.thehockeywriters.com
Barry passed away
Sending love to the Ullmark Family.
yeah, the hate is because he was overpaid, not needed and adds a roadblock to Swayman
5/20 with a NMC for a goaltender that has barely even been average when you have a white hot elite prospect breaking in is a laughably stupid move. The right move for team construction and the cap would've been to bring a veteran back up in for under 3m a year and you put your eggs in the Swayman basket.
This is a move on the level of Beleskey/Hayes/Moore
Fantastic post! I wasn't outraged or thrilled when the Bs brought him over. I was kind of meh, hope he can at least be very solid for that kind of money. Never saw this coming when it comes to raw stats or his incredible mentoring and support of a backup goalie.I've alluded to it earlier, because it seemed inevitable, but Ullmark now appears on the first page of this statistic:

You have to scroll down a fair bit to find him, but when you do, that "49" games played really sticks out (especially since he's only got 47 decisions). Dryden's 41 wins in 55 decisions (56 games) is the closest comparable. I think it's fair to say Linus wouldn't have needed 8 more decisions to get another win, so the actual only comparable in NHL history is Tiny Thompson's 38 wins in 44 decisions. Linus has two more wins in three more decisions, so a slightly worse win rate. 85.1% to 86.4%. What a scrub.
Obviously in large part a team statistic, but what a season he's had! To put his stats in context in this league with ever-increasing shooting percentages and scoring: He outperformed the league average (as it stands) GAA by 36% and SVS% by 35.4% of what's possible -- comparable to Carey Price's Hart-winning season when he outperformed the league average GAA by 22.3% and SVS% by 21.2% of what's possible.
Get well for the playoffs!

Yes. Ullmark got lit up so he was pulled. Sway went in and the B's started playing better. Bergy got tripped and went into Sway and he hurt his knee. Linus went back in ice cold and stood on his head, Bruins scored 3 in the 3rd to force OT and then this happenedI was listening to the Short Shift podcast this morning and they said the only game Ullmark was pulled for performance was the Pittsburgh game when Sway got hurt and he had to go back in.
Is this true? He won the only game he was pulled from??
From the Globe:
It would be up to Ullmark, who had quite a night. After posting a shutout Friday in Columbus, he was yanked Tuesday after allowing five goals on 24 shots, then returned after Swayman’s injury and stopped the final nine shots he saw.
