If the Leafs were going to make an offer for Lindholm, I don't think they would be offering a D in return. They simply don't have the pieces to make that happen, Rielly for Lindholm is a sideways move and doesn't help them. I'd be fine with them offering the Kessel return, a 1st and Kapanen. Ducks don't need to clear any cap space to make that deal, and they get a forward who could possibly be in the NHL later this year. I understand if the Ducks want a D back, but I don't see how they fit the contract without trading away other pieces of their team. Tricky situation, it's going to be interesting to see how Anaheim gets out of this one.

Well the 1st that landed Phil Kessel was lottery protected and ended up being 30th overall, so either way the 1st going back for Lindholm would be significantly more valuable than that. You're essentially saying that Lindholm is worth significantly more than Phil Kessel.

Kessel is a winger Lindholm is a defenseman Lindholm is younger then Kessel was Kessel had some retention Lindholm with whatever contract he gets will make less then Kessel even with retention. Lindholm even unsigned value > Kessel. We ain't trading Lindholm for a 1st and Kapanen type of deal.

with Despres on LTIR freeing up some cap space, now is the time to move Fowler for a premium package of futures and sign Lindholm long term.

I"m not even making an offer because too many ugly cap situations in this league but that's the move they should be making. Get a stud forward prospect, a strong defensive prospect and pick for Fowler and something. Might have to part with something decent in the system because Fowler is a year from UFA.

Trading for a defenseman and trading away a defenseman are two different things. Teams love to acquire good young defenseman they don't like trading them away as much and if they do they want a lot.

This is lost on some Oiler faithful.

I'd move Draisaitl if it means adding Lindholm. The plus would be small though since he's exempt from the expansion draft.

I'd protect 4-4-1 over 7-3-1 so Sekera wouldn't be lost.

Anyways my dream would we move Nurse + Sekera for Trouba.

Lindholm - Trouba
Klefbom - Larsson

Lose Davidson in the expansion draft.

We don't just want futures for Fowler we could of done that already like at the draft but we didn't. Also when Lindholm is signed which might not be right away even after trading Fowler we still have to wait some time for Lindholm to be ready to join our team. Trading Fowler for something that helps our team now is what we are going to be doing not just for futures.

If that is the route we go I don't think we need a dmen back
Larsson Theodore montour are great prospects and we have a couple decent ones outside of the big 3. I'd rather focus on forwardS in ur system for now.

Incoming Trouba and a B prospect for Lindholm and a cap dump trade (hopefully).

Lindholm's agent is Winnipeg Jets prospect Brendan Lemieux's father. The moons are aligned.

Make it happen, Chevy!

Fine. Trouba takes a two year bridge at 3.25. Trade Trouba + Lemieux for Lindholm + Stoner. Ana getting the best of the deal by a long shot; Wpg getting the best player in the trade (maybe). Solve's everyone's problems & Ana has tons of cap space left over.

Why would Trouba take that deal? Why do we want Lemieux? He's not a partically interest prospect. especially when we have some like him in Jones who is better. Solves none of our needs, all it does it give us a worse defensemen that isn't afraid to sit out games if doesn't play where he wants.

Lol. That ought to pretty much end this thread.

Full of "shot" indeed.

Funny but anyone that can read email headers realize that message was never even near Bob murray. If you are going to alter email messages at least do it right.
