Anaheim has sure done a great job of managing their cap situation :sarcasm:

Hopefully Lindholm misses many more games.

Why? Are you that eager for folks to be distracted with something other than the Trouba situation?

Yes, that's the point. Don't trade Lindholm unless you're getting a huge overpayment for it.

well theres obvious contractual issues going, for the guy to miss 5 games already because he doesnt have a contract, i would be worried about him wanting to stay with the team

Understandable, but there really isn't any reason to deal Lindholm to Edmonton at all if Drai + isn't what's coming back.

Fair enough. As much as you wouldn't want to face Lindholm in division we wouldn't want to face Drai in division.

This was offered for Jacob Trouba, Since when does Jacob Trouba and Hampus Lindholm hold the same value. It would take far more then Miller+Skjei to get Lindholm out of Anaheim easily this would be bad for Anaheim.

Trouba and Lindholm are close. This board likes to spout off the same tired misinformed lines about Trouba without looking at his advanced stats, his usage or who he was partnered with. Neither is signed. They're very close in value.

Trouba plus Dano for Lindholm and a cap dump (Stoner?) is a great outcome for both sides if they can convince Trouba to take a cheap bridge in order to accommodate his request to be moved. Dano would immediately help Anaheim's top-6, they'd still have a 22 year old top-pairing D and they'd fit him under the cap.

Got to think both Lindholm and Trouba are both moved soon, don't know if it'd be for 1 another though.

Depends what you consider 'close'. Trouba is a fine young defenseman, but he's just not a #1D right now. Lindholm arguably is, or at least he has experience playing that role. Big difference there for a team that's looking to win now.

That being said i think Trouba would fit in pretty well in Anaheim but the biggest thing here is how do you value his potential. Im sure there's a lot of different opinions between GMs aswell.

If the Ducks got something valuable along with Trouba, and they manage to sign Trouba to a good contract then it can be a decent deal for the Ducks. Otherwise it makes no sense not to sign Lindholm.

Just making things up now for no reason huh? All reports say the two sides are getting closer to a deal. There's nothing to suggest Lindholm wants out, except for people wanting to believe in some conspiracy so they can hope to get Lindholm for cheap.

It's not happening. Either people realize this guy is a hack and don't take his tweets seriously or they do and have to accept that Murray is asking a ton for Lindholm that no team is actually going to make a trade.

I think the Ducks have put themselves in a bit of a pickle. They don't NEED to do anything, but the longer Lindholm sits, if the Ducks don't play well, it puts more pressure on management to do something. Also, I think teams won't offer as much as, say, an offersheet, which most thought would've been matched no matter how much.

I think this is all a load of BS, however, IF THIS IS TRUE this screams Trouba. Jets looking for a similar LHD around the same age - Check. ANA wants a young top paring defender back - Check. ANA needs young cheap forwards, Jets have this - Check. WPG has cap space to take back a bad contract - Check.
I could see something along the lines of
Trouba + Dano/Burmistrov/Copp/Lowry/Petan/Stafford (50% retained) + 2nd
for
Lindholm + Stoner
If he is available, there are a lot of boxes checked off there for both teams needs, regardless of what each fan base thinks. This all being said, I doubt this has any merit to it and we'll Lindholm signed here soon in ANA. However, it does somewhat remind me of the pre-circus prior to Trouba's demands being made public...

Even though there a few arrogant Ducks fans that think they're going to somehow get an upgrade by trading Lindholm, the point is moot.

I believe it was Frideman or McKennzie/Dreger that stated that the Ducks and Lindholm are only a few hundred thousand apart. Lindholm will get signed by Anaheim soon enough.

If Lindholm and his agent (Claude Lemiuex) are unwilling to negotiate much from their offseason position ("talk" is cheap) and Murray doesn't think he can get them to move, then I would definitely move Lindholm for Rielly +. I don't know what the appropriate + would be,

The train for Anaheim's 2016-2017 season is departing the station. Either Lindholm wants to be on our train or he doesn't. Regardless, we are quickly reaching the point where it's time to move forward.

Hopefully moving Despres to LTIR and a few AHL moves will free up enough cap to make a trade like this, even if we are still a little short to try and meet Lindholm's private contract demands.

I love how a Ducks fan assumes that Rielly + is available, Lindholm doesn't even have a contract, Rielly also identical career stats and is in the midst of breaking out (given his World Champion and World Cup performances).

The knock is possession number however Rielly has play on a basement dweller. Andersen is already getting exposed in Toronto, don't see how Hampus gets better in Toronto.

Rielly also has had less PP time and didn't get top PP time behind Phaneuf his whole career.

And you think a + is an option? You're not even Rielly for Hampus alone.

2 1sts and 2 2nds will get it done. No need to trade Pulju

When did you become the new Ducks GM ? Not saying it wouldn't get it done but you are saying it would . We have no way of knowing . As fans who know our own teams best we can come up what we think is fair value but that doesn't mean GM's agree .

Oiler fans realize how terrible Nurse is so why do they offer him in deals like this like he has value?
