I love how a Ducks fan assumes that Rielly + is available, Lindholm doesn't even have a contract, Rielly also identical career stats and is in the midst of breaking out (given his World Champion and World Cup performances).

The knock is possession number however Rielly has play on a basement dweller. Andersen is already getting exposed in Toronto, don't see how Hampus gets better in Toronto.

Rielly also has had less PP time and didn't get top PP time behind Phaneuf his whole career.

And you think a + is an option? You're not even Rielly for Hampus alone.

Cool story, Lindholm is much better.

Tell us how you really feel, you are acting like we care to move lindholm for reilly or move lindholm at all.

If Oilers add defenceman during this season, they lose Sekera to Las Vegas so it doesn't make any sense to do this now.

If the Leafs were going to make an offer for Lindholm, I don't think they would be offering a D in return. They simply don't have the pieces to make that happen, Rielly for Lindholm is a sideways move and doesn't help them. I'd be fine with them offering the Kessel return, a 1st and Kapanen. Ducks don't need to clear any cap space to make that deal, and they get a forward who could possibly be in the NHL later this year. I understand if the Ducks want a D back, but I don't see how they fit the contract without trading away other pieces of their team. Tricky situation, it's going to be interesting to see how Anaheim gets out of this one.

I would not give up Puljujarvi and Nurse as they are both on ELC, we are beep on the left side.
For people saying Nurse has no value he is the left shooting dman that keeps coming up for trades for Trouba and Hammonic last year and Chia would not do it

Klefbom is having a really good year so far and has an amazing contract for the next 7 years. Lindholm is better than Klefbom but not at the cost of a 6 mil contract

I don't think a 1st + kapanen gets it done.... people don't take into account that if you add Lindholm to the leafs defense.... it changes the value of that 1st... there is a very low chance of it being a top 10 let alone a lottery

Nurse Is quickly becoming one guy who seems to be a player valued a lot more by his current team than how others perceive him.

Drai or Larsson + 1st would be a tempting package for the Ducks to pass on.

No way EDM trades Klefbom or Drai and add a first

Well the 1st that landed Phil Kessel was lottery protected and ended up being 30th overall, so either way the 1st going back for Lindholm would be significantly more valuable than that. You're essentially saying that Lindholm is worth significantly more than Phil Kessel.

Understandable, but there really isn't any reason to deal Lindholm to Edmonton at all if Drai + isn't what's coming back.

Remember how fans said Edmonton had to over pay for a D man because every GM knows Edmonton is desperate . They were right . GM's now have the Ducks GM bent over the same barrel . They are not going to get full value for an unsigned D man .

The best package I would offer and I am not sure if the Ducks cap works would be

1 of 1st rd pick or Nurse
1 of Fayne , Pouliot or Ference for cap reason
Choice of Puljujarvi or a package of lessor prospects and picks

Having made an offer I would say with the Ducks cap issue and the D we added over the summer we really aren't good trading partners . The Ducks only make a trade because cap . The Oilers have to watch their cap space because of bonuses . I honestly would rather have Vatanen . I know he is not as good , but it gives the Ducks the space to resign Lindholm and Vatanen is everything the Oilers need to complete their D

Sekera Vatanen

Trouba+ For Lindholm and it sounds like Troubba wants as much as Lindholm can't see how this makes any sense.

I think Trouba might be willing to take a bridge deal to get to a US team and play top pairing soon. Jets could also give the Ducks cap relief along with Trouba.

Because if I'm a team with a high-end young D, I definitely want to trade him away for an unsigned guy of similar value.

Srsly?

...but if Trouba agrees to a bridge deal to get to a team that appeals to him that would provide substantial value to the Ducks.

Lot of different circumstances, I don't think kessel is a good comparision to base a lindholm trade off

Larsson got Hall
Jones got Johansson

Id say lindholm is slightly better then both those players, and isn't the type of player you sell cheap on.

If Lindholm were being moved, and I want to stress if here, it wouldn't be to a Pacific Division team. There would be plenty of interested parties throughout the league. Edmonton isn't in a position to try to gouge Anaheim.

Jones+

Already signed to a 6-year deal under 6mil, gets Lindholm out of the west/punishes him for being a holdout. Y going to a team coached by Torts, & Jones would be beastly next to Cam.

Not saying I WANT that necessarily, but Jones would be the only young top D I'd consider given the scenario in question

To be clear, the tweet said, and it quoted Murray:

"He's full of ****."

But it wasn't filter friendly.

Trading for a defenseman and trading away a defenseman are two different things. Teams love to acquire good young defenseman they don't like trading them away as much and if they do they want a lot.
