On the plus side, at least we're not the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Pretty much this. I'm personally really happy with the season and really proud of this team. It's become one of my all time favorites and not only for the success but for the guts and determination they showed to earn that success.

I'm no more confident in our front office than I've ever been, no more impressed by the coaches than I've ever been, and I'm not altogether optimistic about this group in the future, but one things for sure: it's so much more fun to have a team that even has a punchers chance at the cup than a loser.

I think there is a TON of room for improvement within the core. Panarin was MIA for the postseason. Trouba was very hot and cold. The kids had a strong finish but that doesn't mean that game 1 they'll show up at this level (nor does it mean that if they don't, they're busts--see thomas, Robert for a recent example).

The future is a mystery box. It would've been nice to win a championship, but being realistic it never feels good to lose the last game of the year and the only way you avoid that is either to win it all or not make the dance. This was a fun year for all the headaches. Great team, thanks for the memories!

it just hurts so much boys. When Vatrano potted that beauty it was like taking an adrenaline shot to the heart.......only for it to all come down hard not even 30 f***ing seconds later, gone in a flash. I'm now convinced Tampa made a deal with the devil

it really just wasn't meant to be, every inch we got they managed to take a mile. I mean I'm still in shock from Strome the other night I can't believe we came that close again

Stamkos is Zibanejad but better.

Kucherov is Panarin but better.

Vasilevskiy is Igor but better(ish).

Hedman and Fox are nothing alike but kinda cancel each other out.

We have kids that showed something positive but the coach was too afraid to potentially play that advantage. Cooper is another planet than GG tactically.

We were also seriously injured, and playing against a seasoned clutch and grab system/team.

I don’t think we need major renovations. We need to hope the kids continue to progress and that we have a little better injury luck next year. And I’ll continue to take my Panarin thoughts to his thread.

Except, other than Barron, they didn’t give anyone up for the moves at the deadline.

Rebuild may have been “paused” to take a run, but it isn’t over.
Rebuild is 100% over. This team is fully built. There will be a interchange of parts season to season but this is the core.

Zib Krieder Panarin Fox Miller Schneider Kakko Laf Chytil Blais Igor. Just get the right pieces around them and we’ll be golden. This was a good look. But now we know what we need. 2/3 line Center 2/3 line winger and a 4/5 D man.

Lias, Kravtsov, Kakko, (and Lundkvist soon enough)

When are we going to start asking the real questions ? And when will they be willing to answer them and not give this “I’m not going to answer that, it’s not the time” f***ing bullshit?

Like I said from the beginning, something is rotten.

We put Ryan f***ing strome in front of our elite talent in the top 6 and ask why these guys want out? Because it’s going to be year f***ing 4 and they can’t sniff the Power Play. Lmao

You reap what you sew.

Gallant is a clown for benching Kakko for Rooney.

He’s 10000% getting moved this off-season. He’s also probably going to crush it with his new team but hey! We signed Panarin so we’re good!!

1. Mika Zibanejad. Cemented his place as a true #1 centerman who can get it done when it counts. If Panarin had anywhere near Zibanejad's success this postseason, we are talking about how we matchup against the Avs rather than gearing up for offseason wars amongst ourselves.

2. Ryan Lindgren. Warrior. We don't make it out of the Pittsburgh series if he doesn't come back for G5.

3. K'Andre Miller. Stud. Size, speed, etc. I don't know how many times he gets left alone because Trouba goes space walking like he did on the GWG tonight. KAM has the ability to get back and cancel out his own mistakes, but time and again he covered for so many of Trouba's. Unfortunately, the last one was a 2 on 1 against Kucherov and Stamkos. Oof.

Very Honorable Mentions: Adam Fox, Filip Chytil, Alexis Lafreniere.

Mika will be even more effective when we find ourselves a true 3C who can anchor a solid checking/matchup line, win face offs & kill penalties. The burden Mika carries on him game in & game out must be a giant monkey on his back.
