I missed most of the 3rd, I actually think we looked petty good until then but were relying on Igor too much.
Certainly not shocked that TBL won a game, anyone expecting a sweep is crazy IMO.

Hopefully we can get a road win and get back to MSG witha chance to close it out.

Some of you guys really do go overboard at times...

Yup, thought we looked good most of the game. Controlled the pace and did what they wanted, when they wanted. Looked pretty unstoppable in stretches. I believe that is part of the problem, they grew a wee bit overconfident.

First sign of trouble for me was the very sloppy play during the first PP. They were almost taunting Tampa with how they left pucks in space. Ultra soft touch passes, etc. Almost couldn't believe how nonchalant they were. That strange arrogant air just bled throughout the game.

Tampa threw everything at us, and they got one. Not worried at all though. Even with the shot disparity, our boys were dictating most of that match. The game was there to be had, even with Trouba's gaffes, but they got a bit too full of themselves and let one slip away. They will course correct and be fine.

PS.
As I suspected, Tampa will just get dirtier as this series goes along. Our boys will have to accept there will be no honor coming from Tampa until the handshake line.

People said this about Fast but Panarin played his best hockey as a Ranger with Fast by leaps and bounds.

You need role players and having all of them on the 4th line doesn't diversify your lineup in any way.

If we're keeping the Kid Line together which I'll absolutely concede for the rest of the playoffs at least, then the top six needs some jam from somewhere.

Fast is not great offensively but he's much better than Motte.

In his last two years Trouba has five -1, 2, 3, 4, FIVE!- points on the powerplay and ONE goal.

He has been responsible for more shorthanded goals against as a Ranger than powerplay goals.

Just let Miller do it. He's at least responsible defensively.

yeah and the 2nd unit never doing anything is almost 100% because Trouba 9 out of 10 times takes some dumb big windup slapshot that never ever ever goes in the net and then that's it for the power play.

I'm laughing at the Trouba bashing. Trouba has been huge for us in both the regular season and the playoffs. Today TB was bullying us for most the game. Trouba is one of a round a half dozen not soft Rangers. Rangers were a very tired team today. The Strome bashing gets a bit silly as well. Everyone loves new toys. Strome has helped us. Now we have 2.5 days to hopefully rest up a lot.

You can’t win them all. This snapped a 4 game win streak for us. Let’s not all go into panic mode. Rangers need to get through the neutral zone a bit better next game. They were way too sloppy.

It won’t be the 16th because that’s Game 6 of the NBA. It’s either the 17th or 18th, and the 18th was picked.

I'm pretty sure the 18th is just the LATEST the finals can start on. If this round ends on the 9th they're not letting teams sit for 9 days without hockey.

After 16 pages and counting…

1) Other than Strome, Gallant is making zero line-up changes
2) No one has commented on how easy a time the Bolts had passing and skating thru the neutral zone - like buttah - that is a thing the Rangers can def adjust
3) Expect Bolts to be as, if not more, chippy in G4. Reaves needs to sleep straight thru til Tues nite to conserve his energy.
4) Rangers are a bad road team unless backs are to the wall. I’d give Georgi the L and rest Igor so he’s ready for games 5-7. (hot taek)
5) Didn’t think it possible but that national anthem was worse than Carolina’s
