Is Othmann a stretch?

I do think the staff and the FO need to take Panarin's toys away, and he needs to revert back a couple of years from the type of player he's become.
Panarin was at his best with the Rangers when Jesper Fast babysat him and went out of his way to cover for every hole Panarin has.

We never really replaced that role player on his line.

People think Copp does but he really doesn't. Copp has 31 points in 32 games with the Rangers and has otherwise been a non-factor 5v5. He's jumped right into Clown College with the other two.

Hotter take.

Vatrano should be on PP1. Utilize his shot.
Yes and play 2:30 at even strength. Sign me up.

That's not saying much anything and relative to how much they control the game, the Kid Line still lacks finish.

It's not a bad line at all. Having them forecheck like hell and chip in even strength goals has been the difference.

I still think, moving forward, Laf and Kakko would be better served parting and playing with better talent higher in the lineup.

This is not happening until next year. You can't mess with the lines this deep into the post season, with games every other day, unless the team completely implodes Games 4 and 5, or Strome really is hurt badly, or if there's obviously a long break, which obviously means you know what I mean.

Man you are really something today. Go have a beer.

I would f***ing mess with them but they won't, so yeah.

f*** that, I f***ing carried this board though the first 12 games of this playoffs and prevented mass suicide.

People are allowed to make critiques.

I'm not saying anything like "this series is over" or "give up on this core," the type of shit we were seeing as recently as game 5 in Carolina.

Literally my first line that I initially replied to you with was how I DIDN'T think it was what happened today.

I'm just calling out the pearl-clutching that it could even occur when theres clear of examples non-players effecting the outcome of a game.

You keep saying "if you believe that, you shouldn't watch".

Cool, opinion noted.
Watching and rooting for someone in a competition that someone believes might be fixed against them is their choice and i don't care if anyone does. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I also think that they kept trying to open the game up into a track meet, maybe too eagerly without minding their own end of the rink. While the forwards did manage to even up the Bolts' zone entries 3 on 3 most of the time, I just feel that the own-zone mindfulness wasn't there today.
Yeah but that was Tampa's game plan. Stupid to play into it.

The only thing that makes me feel a little better that was one of Tampa’s best efforts and was one of the Rangers worst. The score was tied till the last min and they lost 3-2. Come somewhere in the middle of Game 1 and 3 and they have a good chance to take Game 4.

I usually never get too negative or rake on players but Trouba single-handedly stopped any momentum the Rangers were trying to get back.

I hear ya and I agree with a lot of what you say but you have mentioned that Vatrano sucks and the lines should be changed 1000 times. Vatrano does not suck but I agree he should not be on the 1st line. I still think the kid line has been great and should stay together. They need more minutes actually.

I know it's blasphemy right now, but I would consider swapping KK and Vatrano, especially on the road. See if we can't use KK's board skills to help the Mika line keep the puck in the O-zone

Making line suggestions isn't even that much of a critique!

Nothing was more toxic than the post game thread after game 5 of the Carolina series. Tampa is beatable, no team is perfect, not even the Avs.

We might have even won in overtime. Who the hell knows. But what I do know: we are no longer playing with house money, we should expect to win this series. So if the board gets salty over a bed shitting, so be it.

Trouba — f***ing disgraceful to make that many mistakes. Even if 1-2 of the calls were marginal, it was his poor f***ing positioning and play that led to those. He needs to find another f***ing level because that was unacceptable

If Strome can't go in game 4, Hunt or Blais or Rooney with Goodrow moving up?

Probably Rooney at center.
Really should be two of those three coming in. Reaves was irrelevant today. Once the injuries happened and the game got tight he was useless and not playing in the 3rd. We need to improve the possession time.

I'm concerned that Vasi hasn't stolen a game yet in the series. I think that will happen soon.
He may not have stolen today but he made a lot of key saves, especially early in the 1st. I am not concerned.

Maybe I'm being a bit hard on Vatrano but I don't think I'm wrong in saying he's in that Pirri/Duclair/Frolov mold of "might score a goal or two" being his entire resume.

I don't think this team needs that at all and the line he's on sure as f*** doesn't need that.

I get what they added him because he has nice speed but he doesn't really use it to accomplish much and Motte is the guy that really could be that role player we need in the top 9. Just don't break up the Kid Line.

Swap Motte and Vatrano, that's literally all I said. Let Vatrano play on the PP and hide him on the 4th line.

I won't be any more negative. Trouba and Vatrano suck. They cost us a ton of momentum. Whatever

I can't hate this gaggle of cockroaches. This is only the second time in my conscious fandom that they're punching above their weight class. The first being Montreal in 2017 and I f***ING HATED that team.

They beat a team that's better in Pittsburgh, a team that's much better at least system wise in Carolina, and they're up 2-1 on the back to back champs.

Just f***ing win baby. We had this until Trouba's one braincell went on PTO. I'm sure he'll make up for it.

To believe Disney had nothing to do with the result today is naive. To believe it was done to purposely cost the Rangers the SERIES is also naive.

The game was at 3 PM because Disney has the NBA Finals at 8 PM, and they do not want any conflicts. 3 PM is a f***ing asinine time for a Conference Final, but Disney gave the NHL a ton of money, so.

The Stanley Cup Finals begin June 18. Disney does not want to go any longer than they have to between the Conference Final and the Cup Final.

Had Tampa not run Shesty twice and the Rangers scored on the two power plays, Trouba would not have been called for his first two penalties. The first call changed the momentum of the entire game. They also have Tampa a lot more leeway with the interference, crosschecks, hooks, etc.

Disney did not want a team to have a 3-0 lead. Especially with the other series 3-0. There is too much money in advertising and sponsorships, and needing live content that’s been specifically scheduled.
