Maybe I'm being a bit hard on Vatrano but I don't think I'm wrong in saying he's in that Pirri/Duclair/Frolov mold of "might score a goal or two" being his entire resume.

I don't think this team needs that at all and the line he's on sure as f*** doesn't need that.

I get what they added him because he has nice speed but he doesn't really use it to accomplish much and Motte is the guy that really could be that role player we need in the top 9. Just don't break up the Kid Line.

Swap Motte and Vatrano, that's literally all I said. Let Vatrano play on the PP and hide him on the 4th line.

Motte is a fourth liner. He should not be moved up the lineup.

Copp seems to escape criticism on this board but the 2nd line has been bad and he is on that line.

He hasn't been the problem on his line though.

Not a good game today, but for the large majority of the playoffs hes been the only one going.

To believe Disney had nothing to do with the result today is naive. To believe it was done to purposely cost the Rangers the SERIES is also naive.

The game was at 3 PM because Disney has the NBA Finals at 8 PM, and they do not want any conflicts. 3 PM is a f***ing asinine time for a Conference Final, but Disney gave the NHL a ton of money, so.

The Stanley Cup Finals begin June 18. Disney does not want to go any longer than they have to between the Conference Final and the Cup Final.

Had Tampa not run Shesty twice and the Rangers scored on the two power plays, Trouba would not have been called for his first two penalties. The first call changed the momentum of the entire game. They also have Tampa a lot more leeway with the interference, crosschecks, hooks, etc.

Disney did not want a team to have a 3-0 lead. Especially with the other series 3-0. There is too much money in advertising and sponsorships, and needing live content that’s been specifically scheduled.

Is that 18th start date confirmed? If Rangers win in 5 and Avs in 4, they are going to have a week + off? That doesnt seem correct.

I'm laughing at the Trouba bashing. Trouba has been huge for us in both the regular season and the playoffs. Today TB was bullying us for most the game. Trouba is one of a round a half dozen not soft Rangers. Rangers were a very tired team today. The Strome bashing gets a bit silly as well. Everyone loves new toys. Strome has helped us. Now we have 2.5 days to hopefully rest up a lot.

Was Trouba an idiot tonight? Yes. Were some of the calls highly egregious? Um, yes.

People said this about Fast but Panarin played his best hockey as a Ranger with Fast by leaps and bounds.

You need role players and having all of them on the 4th line doesn't diversify your lineup in any way.

If we're keeping the Kid Line together which I'll absolutely concede for the rest of the playoffs at least, then the top six needs some jam from somewhere.

Trouba earned himself a little raking today. But yeah I agree he has been good for the Rangers overall, but not today. If anything, he was one of the bigger culprits that cost them the game.

Up 2-1 in the ECF is not the time to put the lines in a blender. Hope Strome is okay. If not, slide Goodrow up and put Rooney/Hunt/Blais on the fourth line.

A couple things.

This team when they play like Gallant wants them to, look like cup champions, when they get away from that they look like a team relying on their goalie. We were relentless on the forecheck the first two games, forcing turnovers all over the place, we need to get back to that.
Losing Strome was a big loss in this game because as much as i like Goodrow, he's not a top 6 player and him and Copp kinda add the same thing only Goodrow is less of a scoring threat. I think maybe a better solution next game is to move Motte up for some speed on that line and put Copp at center. I'm hopeful if Strome isn't back that its Brodzinski and not Hunt who is called up, especially if Motte ends up moving up.

Shrug it off, come back strong for game 4 and head back to MSG with a chance to punch our ticket to the final.

With the benefit of hindsight, we should have protected him over Kevin Rooney. Especially if we knew we were targeting Goodrow.

i realize Chytil got moved up after Strome was hurt but there's still enough guys to do it without Trouba. He's just too predictable

It was kind like a mental exhaustion after all the big games that they had to play. Sometimes that happens. They are usually mentally strong and will hopefully rebound next game. The Lightning were never going to be an easy out. Throw this one away and come out strong next game.
