Agree on Vatrano and Strome.
I'm still unsure of Copp. Overall he's been good, and I think he's playing injured right now. The question is whether it's the right use of cap space which gets tighter everyday, and does Chytil and the kid line continue to improve in to a regular season 2nd line, which means you can potentially look for a cheaper option on the 3rd

Jets fan here. I think Trouba and Coop helped you get as
far as you've gotten so far. Without them who knows if you'd
still be in playoffs.

I would swap Motte and Vatrano.
Motte has a good IQ, is a solid forechecker, and plays great defense.
Motte absolutely earned his chance to move up tbh. The only reason it was tits is because he broke up the Kid Line to do it and added Motte to a line that already can't really score.
Obviously, that's the concern, but a trained seal could score with Kreider and ZIbanejad.
Gallant seems to have convinced himself that Vatrano plays this x-factor role because he skates fast. He doesn't. He's Brandon Pirri. He can score 20-25 goals but will do absolutely nothing else.
Kreider and Zibanejad need a "dirty work" player. They need a part-time bubble team sniper like Zibanejad needs more hair.

Trouba does dumb shit. He also does important physical shit. The dumb shit way outweighed the good shit today, even if that call at the start of the third was iffy at best.
Let’s see what the team looks like missing Strome. Blending lines mid game is problematic, but I think they can be better overall without him going into Game 4.
They need to treat the next game like a Game 7. Really can’t let this team build momentum. They still looked very beatable despite us playing very poorly today.

Not necessarily against the idea. The kids move to the top 6, whether together or on separate lines. Who is on the 3rd line? Goodrow, Blais, and someone? You need some offensive contribution from the 3rd line nowadays.

So we are just ignoring the game and series changing hits Trouba had against Crosby and Carolina? He single handedly put both teams on tilt that they were too busy trying to elbow him instead of play the puck.

We weren't gonna sweep Tampa Turn the page The sting here is the 3 unanswered goals, the lack of production 5v5, the inability to capitalize on the 4 min double minor. Forwards look tired. I told my son GG better have a great speech end of the 2nd and some smelling salts ready. Apparently not.
Here is the bright spot - Igor played fantastic. He is comfortable in Tampa, could not have asked more from him. We played crappy hockey against a desperate team and almost won. This is the Ranger way, we were way more stacked in 1994 and took double OT game 7 to get past the Devils.

Tampa was jamming at Shesterkin early on, after the saves were made. Perry got mad he "sold it" but stop messing with the goalie after the play. You cost your team a goal. The following play by Nash was terrible... he skates backwards into the goalie? Cooper was jumping up and down screaming?! Why? because his team is down in the series and blowing it big time?

We literally don't beat Pittsburgh if not SPECIFICALLY for Jacob Trouba. This is beyond an absurd take. Trouba also put a stamp on game 7 with his hit on Jarvis that led to the PP and a 2 goal lead. His hit on Domi also, literally led to a goal.
He had a bad game. These takes are mind numbing. ,The Rangers are out in the first round, without even a whimper if not for 8.

Trouba is not Patrik Nemeth and that's literally the only credit I'll give him in these playoffs.

Is Othmann a stretch?
I do think the staff and the FO need to take Panarin's toys away, and he needs to revert back a couple of years from the type of player he's become.

That's not saying
It's not a bad line at all. Having them forecheck like hell and chip in even strength goals has been the difference.
I still think, moving forward, Laf and Kakko would be better served parting and playing with better talent higher in the lineup.

This team plays better when they aren't comfortable. They better come out ready to play balls to the wall on Tuesday. Tampa is not going to be an easy out.
