Last thoughts,...
Mika had his 4th game winner against Tampa this year, in the 5 games played. And even though we thoroughly dominated most of the game, it was only a tenuous one goal lead until Mika came through in the third.
Foxy continues to excel with some excellent play.
The kids line will continue to produce. Cause if the Canes couldn't stop them, it's unlikely Tampa will. They are too slow to keep up with the kids.
Panarin is still turning the puck over. I expect more from him this series. How are teams able to shut him down this postseason? When he was always good at making plays under pressure, being strong on the puck and being elusive. Something ain't right. This is my only prediction that didn't come through, although it is only Game 2. I thought he would have more time and space this series, but it seems he is not using his legs to create that space. He is being very stationary with the puck, making him an easy target for defenders to close on him.
Structurally, we are playing sound defensively. Clogging the middle, collapsing down low, keeping them on the perimeter, not allowing cross ice seam passes. And getting the puck out cleanly and quickly more often than not. But we have been playing sound defense for a while now, ever since we were down 3-1 vs the Pens. Shesty hasn't had to stand on his head, cause we are playing well in front of him.
We take one down in Tampa, and we could end this in 5 games.
