No but neither does Kravstov because he bolted back to Russia like a baby @EdJovanovski
They'd petition to get him one, his impact is bigger than just what he brings on the ice. When there's a player like that in the system, it rubs off on everybody. They puff their chests out a little more, they play with a bit more swagger. He'd be in my top 5 for the Smythe (Lindgren, Igor, Mika, Chytil, then Krav) if we go all the way but I understand if other players would feel slighted by him winning it given that he didn't physically play the games. But that's the thing with him, other players operate in the realm of physics; Kravtsov is beyond the physical.

Why doesn't Sam get a job at ESPN?

doesn't he still do national football broadcasts?
I wonder if ESPN is going to have ESPN+ simulcast with local radio for the Cup Finals like they do for the CFB playoffs.

I also have a theory that Chytil's first goal last night was a consequence of the popularity of the michigan move.

Kakko is dangling around behind the net, which draws the direct attention of not one, but two Tampa players.

They're looking at Kakko, he slithers it to Chytil who has been left entirely alone.
Kakko has gotten less attention than other kids but he’s been pulling his weight as well and this goal was 80% result of his work around the net.

Isn't Kravtsov in NY? And Drury is in the area too, I think. Maybe they're having a summit to reconcile?

Tampa fans must be 6-2 their stomachs.

Solid dad joke.

Way too soon for a victory lap.
Yeah, I heard this last week when I first made this prediction,.... when we still had to get by the Canes.

We just rolled through 3 fairly easy wins. It won't stop until we reach Colorado. I wouldn't hesitate to bet on it, for all the reasons I just reposted.

I really don't know what everyone was thinking in giving Tampa Bay the edge in this series. When I was sure last week, that if we get past the Canes, we would be heading to the Finals. It's was as clear as the nose on my face why the Rangers would beat Tampa, especially with home ice advantage. I wouldn't and couldn't say this about the next round, but we are going to the Big Dance. Of that I'm sure of. Tampa is no match for us. Doesn't mean we are going to sweep, just that we will win this series. We will likely win in either 5 or 7 games.

Everyone talks about TB. The Leafs should have beaten TB in six games. The Leafs had them. Vasiievskiy wasn't great in the Leafs series. He had his bad moments. TB has Stamkos and Kucherov. Palat always play well against the Rangers. Cirelli is a good player. With no Point, TB is not an offensive juggernaut. TB is bigger and more physical than Pittsburgh and Carolina. The Gourde line isn't there anymore. Killorn is a good player. What I trying to say is the TB team isn't the same team from the previous two seasons. No Point. No Gourde. No Coleman. No Goodrow. TB gave up two #1 picks to Chicago for Hagel trying to recreate the Gourde line. Hagel hasn't had the same impact as Coleman or Goodrow. Their depth isn't the same.

People talk about the Florida series. The Capitals outplayed Florida in their first round series. The Capitals aren't very good. Wilson tore his ACL in the first game. He was a big loss for them.

The Rangers need to do a better job defending Kucherov. He had too many good looks like night.

TB went with 11F/7 D.

Foote and Rutta barely played. Bogosian has seen his better days. McDonagh tried to be physical in the first period. The Rangers need to finish their checks on him. Sergachev was banged up in the Florida series. He didn't skate much when TB was off.

I agree 100%. The outlook of the team Yzerman put in place has also shifted some. It’s not only Gourde and Point that is out, TyJo was their 4th line center last season. 3 of 4 centers.

Nick Paul is a very different player than Point, Gourde and TyJo.

In addition, teams going all the way have not had sufficient time to recover and it has showed. Up until Pittsburgh and then Tampa repeating. Score Pitt did it, it seemed more less impossible at times to get another repeat because the Cup winner was (almost) always worthless the year after for well over a decade. The second final between Detroit and Pittsburgh was awful, Zetterberg could barely skate. Looked like the Paralympics.

Tampa’s first repeat don’t really count in this perspective due to the pandemic. But can they really have the energy to do it again this year??

Carolina have been my favorite in the East all season, I’ve never felt that Tampa really was a candidate. But with that said, they know how to play to have a chance to win and won’t be rattled, they of course stand a chance in all series. But…

I kinda feel bad for them. But this is why it’s critical to rebuild the right way. They have no 1st or 2nd round picks for the next 3 years. So will be very hard to improve their current roster. It’s cup or bust now for them. Sadly looking more towards bust.

I don’t want to see Tampa winning again thought they could take care of them but now it’s up to us. I think a lot of outside fans rooting for the Rangers because Tampa has become very arrogant , players and their fans.

I had no idea. What kind of team that hasn't won a playoff round in 25 years thinks it's a good idea to trade away their 1st and 2nd round picks for 3 straight years??? At least they have some talent...I guess they can trade some skill away for cheaper, younger players.

I just double checked they do have a 2nd round in 2023 but that’s it.

Kakko's doing the unheralded grunt work on that line. He is excellent at creating turnovers with his stick checking and a lot of chances have come off of him stripping the other team of the puck and his teammates taking advantage. He doesn't always get on the scoresheet for it but he's definitely part of what's making that line tick. Hope he can get a few goals for himself as well

I was able to sync to ESPN Radio and listen to Sam’s call. BTW I’d recommend this to any Rangers fan
I'm going to try this next game. I really miss Sam. Thanks for bringing this up.

Edit: Oh Geez I can't. I prefer watching the games on tape delay, so I can fast forward through commercials and between periods.

I loved the Captain when he played for us, but I can't stand him and Chelios as commentary analyst.
