the scene where the boat finally gets to the end of the river and the music playing and just the setting is just....out of this world...one of my favorite scenes in a movie

he just stands up on the boat and sees everybody just waiting there and they clear a path..

I watched Apocalypse Now for the first time a month or two ago. I was eager to see what the hype surrounding this movie was all about and, well, let's just say I wasn't disappointed. I don't remember where I read this but the person that said this "wasn't about Vietnam, it actually WAS Vietnam" was right. It's like being there.

The End by The Doors is just a perfect song for this movie.

3.5 hours? My God, I never sit that long for anything. I'll have to watch it in increments.

I usually do this for long films (like say when rewatching LotR or something) but for this one I don't think I paused the movie more than a few times. There's something.... fascinating about it. I don't know, might not be the same for everyone though. Three hours and half is pretty damn long, despite how good the movie was.

Nah, start with the original version. If you like it, move onto the Redux when you want. Blade Runner you have to watch the Final Cut first and then the theatrical one if you want.

Ya, certainly seems like they're moving towards that.
The viagra, I thought, well he has scars over his body so maybe he's just messed up mentally. But he seems to constantly be avoiding his girl and doesn't like sleeping over. Then he uses a profanity gay word. Then he scopes what seemed to be a gay prostitute..
So ya, it definitely seems that they're heading there.

My bet is that it's rock-salt shots. It explains everything - and without stepping outside the story and spoiling who is signed for however long.

I don't do episode-by-episode reviews but I'm pretty sure the people who expected a grim-dark real take on the world of crime and the occult to not appreciate the show. This season is hyper-stylized, cliched if you will. I like it, and not because I'm forcing myself to, but it's just fun to watch a show this good.

Good shots, good pacing, good dialogue (at times it's a bit hammy but, again, it's supposed to be a world of extremes). Good characters! Rust Cohle, Velcoro... both great characters. Semyon moved across the board like a damn chess piece. I don't know what more people want - last season wasn't perfect but it was framed cleverly enough to move things along with the flashbacks and investigations and interviews. If they used the same narrative technique this time around people would be complaining anyway.
