The Rock isn't believable as a financial adviser even if he's only there to bring in clients he knows from playing. Also, I thought Vince Vaughn was good. He played the role how it should be played so you'd have to hate him or not be willing to give him a chance to not have been fine with it thus far.

I thought he did a good job of portraying the kind of character that will lack emotion and analyze events as they come with an even keel mentality (except for throwing the glass). Like him as a bad guy, gives him a chance to show what he can do which I think will be important if he wants to get away from merely being in comedies.

So I just watched True Detective.

Why did it feel like I was watching Legends of the Fall?

What?

Did Mrs. LG hit you with her frying pan again?

i knew Vince Vaughn was gonna ruin True Detective for me. the only role he plays is himself, dude has no acting skills whatsoever.

i liked ballers, im sure the storyline is gonna provide some quality entertainement (especially if youre a sports fan). too bad the episodes are only 30 mins long.

didnt bother watching the brink

I really didn't mind Vince Vaughn.
I agree with Ballers though, seems like a 1h show to me.

Didn't mind the Brink actually.

Watched the 1st episode of true detective s2.

Was meh, I don't like how they develop the characters so far.

S1 was soooooo good.

Holy ****! I've been watching The Last Ship and I can't stop laughing! It's soooooo ****ing bad :laugh;

A Russian destroyer firing nuclear missiles to the ship disappearing from radar because thru turned off their computer to having to refuel every episode to al Qaeda in gitmo WITH their afghan rags and their AKs  to orders first coming from the White House to (next episode) the pentagon

And I haven't even talked about the acting yet

It's the worst :biglaugh: but I can't stop watching because I can't stop laughing

Just watched The Draft........Costner, based on a NFL GM on draft day...good movie, some crazy insight on what can go down in a 12 hr period on a Draft Day!!

About DKR, I hate this movie cause it was sort of all the big set pieces that were creeping in in the Nolan Batman flicks that exploded there. For example I loved Batman Begins but the ending was too overblown to me. I didn't like the big steam machine and the big car and the train crash. In Dark Knight, great movie but I thought the ending was too much with the people in the two boats and the hostages disguised as clowns and all that mess with Bats fighting the SWAT guys and the criminals and them being suspended. Finally I didn't like the radar phones thing.

In DKR, it was all these little scenes but taken to the extreme. You don't need to explode a stadium in a Batman movie. You don't need a giant flying ship either. It's a Batman movie! The guy is a street-level detective! Just do that. My version of a Joker movie would be like Fritz Lang's "M". A smoke-filled timeless city, a freakish man strike terror into people. The police, the criminal element and a masked vigilante are after him. You don't need more than that in a Batman film. You don't even need one explosion.

I hope that one day Roarchach from the watchmen gets his own movie, sounds like you want the same thing because batman will never get that treatment.

downloading now. love the costner

wow is Last Man on Earth is hilarious. Forte and Schaal are hilarious.

im not the biggest fan of forte and schaal is, as always, tear your eyeballs out annoying, but i didn't mind her that much.

overall i loved it and they wrapped it up very nicely at the end. season 2 should be a doozy

2 episodes into the new Orange is the New Black and I gotta say, this season blows. The other 2 weren't bad as I watch them with my wife since she likes them. But this season, ugh.

New season of True Detective started off on the right foot. I loved it. I can't possibly comprehend the overly detailed criticism of these idiots who expected the exact same thing as s1.

I'm with you on all counts. I thought the first episode was great and the S1 fanboys slay me.

Every character was a clichéd broken individual. Oh I'm a wild alcoholic detective! :( The wonderful thing about the first season was the absolutely incredible brooding and mysterious atmosphere it created and a complex character in Rust. That atmosphere was no where to be found in this episode. It's a completely different show now. Many people were hoping for a similar tone.

The acting, aside from Colin Farrell, was pretty atrocious. Vince Vaughn can't act for ****. The storyline was convoluted right off the bat.

I mean, I'll watch the season but this episode was a mess. Too much was crammed into it. The simplicity and minimalism of season 1 is gone.

The best part of the episode was Colin Farrell asking if the kids **** in his son's shoe.

Completely agree.

I liked the first season... didn't think it was as great as some people did but I enjoyed it. I'm also all for a reset button ala American Horror Story with new characters. I expect things to be different. But this was just so formulaic and cliché. And then they bash us over the head repeatedly with gloom... "this is my least favourite life..." I mean give me a break.

Nothing about this episode was natural. Everyone was a caricature... It was very forced and contrived. I won't write it off yet but that was very bad television in my opinion.

idk, I kinda like season 3 so far! the less we hear about Piper the better the episodes are
